I think he did very well after he poor performance in his previous fight. used his experience and skill to his advantage and it paid off in the end. A rematch would be great but Joel would be looking for bigger money now.

Reminded me slightly of Eubank Watson 2.

How ?? Eubank took a sustained beating and was knocked down badly in the 11th and then out of nowhere in final seconds landed an uppercut that caused Watson permanent injuries, Watson survived and comeback out for last round and took 10 unanswered punches i don't see the comparison ?? Eubank was miles behind on points and had to pull out dramatic uppercut to save himself, where as Katsidis vs Casamayor was close and Katsidis was down x2 in 1st, and Casamayor was knocked through the ropes in the 6th, and he pulled out vicious left hook right at the start of round 10, the number of knockdowns were different, and the circumstances were different. Like i said i don't see the comparison at all do you care to explain that one to me ??

in my opinion he won convincingly. can't be more convincing than a tko/ko win

I know I'm super-late but.....
WHAT A FRIGGING GOOD FIGHT!!!!!
Honestly, I was one of those doubters that wasn't giving Casamayor much of a chance, given his last performance. And I had seen Katsidis once before and was impressed as hell. But all credit in the world to Casamayor. He weathered the storm in the middle rounds (that knockdown in the 6th from the uppercut to the body was awesome!!)... and adjusted like the pro he is. And that crunching left that KO'ed Kats... geeeez! I felt bad for Katsidis. He gave 200% out there. Someone just needs to teach him to fight for round survival when he gets clocked like that.
FOTY candidate, as far as I'm concerned.
You have to give tons of credit to a guy who gets punched out of the ring and comes back later to stop his opponent. The stoppage was on point. Casamayor had plenty in the tank to finish the job. Katsidis will be back. He's young.
The fight shouldn't have been stopped IMO.![]()
