I am gonna watch it with some of the guy's here that used to train with Verno when he was just coming up.....Verno is a good guy and I have known him a pretty long time....Even trained his son's Josh and Thage in the amateurs...Would be nice to see him grab one more title make a defense then ride off into the sunset....I don't see it happening against Spinks though...Truth is IMO no one in the SMW division is beating him any time soon

This is really an under the radar fight .Did this even make someones prediction thread ?Really glad to see Phillips getting a Big go at it ,The bad news is It Involves Spinks This guy makes me yearn for an upcoming Offensive Explosion along the lines of Wlad.......

Personnaly Im praying for Left hooks a plenty but agree its a long shot.Spinks will move all night and Phillips might be made to look 50 yrs old....Verno has to trap him.The legs in this one may be just as immportant as the hands.I have always liked Phillips,They do not come any more hardened and deep in adverse experience.

This fight has the biggest spread of any fight Vegas has covered this year (that I know of). My dad actually called me (he doesn't know anything about pugilism) and asked if that was going to be a good fight since it was near home. I said it wasn't one for a novice to stomach. Or the booze..... ha

It's funny I always find Corey's ring entrances must watch viewing, then I switch off until its over and have another laugh at his post fight interview.

He looks retarded, in fact he looks like he should be the guy who Zelenoff and Kid Thunder will fight if they beat each other.

What's ironic though is that even though he looks like he has an IQ less than Koko the Gorilla he's actually one of the smartest fighters around.
