I do kind of get where you are coming from. Religious extremism is a very unhealthy thing and it is sheer hypocrisy to go and live in a place and declare it the hub of all evil. But I think you go a little too far in your final sentence. After all I always criticise Korea but I really dont think I should be deported just because I have a Western mindset. I kind of get the angle you are coming from but find it quite harsh towards the end.

No I don't mean people who just grumble, I mean those who use a public platform to say that our country is evil and of the devil. If you think our country is evil and wicked, and that it's so corrupt that you must make a public platform for yourself and condemn our nation...........and you happen to actually live here amongst us then according to my logic you can only be here in a capacity to do harm to our nation.

Obviously they are not here to enjoy our lifestlye benefits and high standard of living and greater personal freedoms, after all they arn't hyprocrites and care nothing for such things so if they live here whilst hating us at the same time and preaching that hatred then logically there only reason for living here is to attempt to bring us down from the inside.

As in all walks of life it's the realtive minority of extremists that gets the peaceful majority a bad rep. It's not just restricted to Muslims either - it's in virtually all religion.

This results in racist organisations like the BNP feeding of stories in the Sun and other comics and creating fear among 'normal' people. This in turn leaves genuine asylum seekesr and foreigners who live here, appreciate it and give something back facing prejudice, isolation and violence.

Britain should not have an open door policy for anyone and everyone to take advantage of but nor should it turn a blind eye and close the door to the suffering of people who face persecution from other countries who do not hold the values of freedom as importantly as we do. After all that's part of what makes Great Britian - Great.

Say what you like about Khan in the ring - outide of it the kid is showing maturity and class (apart from his driving...)

As a boxing fan, a few guys at work showed me this yesterday, and I quite liked the Khan v Bakri tale of the tape they put up to dismiss Bakri as a loon.

However, it was a non-story, but was a clever piece of journalism to turn it into front page fodder (as an ex-journo, I can appreciate that kind of manipulation on a quiet news day).

Again I see completely where you are coming from. If you are choosing to go to the UK then you do need to abide by the rules. Religious jealots are an extreme case and to incite hatred or to try and spread fear should both be punishable...a deportation order for those things may very well be the order of the day.

Nothing wrong with a dose of constructive critisism of any society though and it shouldnt matter who is doing the criticising whether its a native or an immigrant. I suppose I say this from the perspective of a person living as a minority in a strange land. Of course, there is a difference between being a peaceful and loving miles and a that of a fervent religious fruitcake.

The only people to have microphones out here are these bongo truck drivers selling their onions. They piss me off all the time with their metallic droning. I wish they would be deported actually but its highly unlikely because they are Korean nationals. I actually went out and confronted one last week. The guy had his drone going on outside my apartment for over 30 minutes. I was cursing like a trooper and eventually put on my shoes and went out armed with a pencil and a piece of paper. I saw the bastard sitting on the back of his truck loaded with onions. I saw his license plate was covered with towels so marched up and started tugging at the towels. He didnt like that and so asked me what I wanted (in Korean of course). I pointed at the towels and he obliged by taking them off. With my trusty pencil and paper I started jotting down the number. He got affronted by this and became more challeging. He obviously had no permit to sell in the streets. In my broken Korean I basically told him to piss off and to do it NOW!! He got into his truck and then he was gone. I won that one but Im sure I will have to do it again later during the hot summer months.

I suppose what I am getting at here is that there are undesirables in every country. If I started irritating the locals by selling onions noisily at all hours of the day and by doing it in English I would most likely be deported in minutes. Understandably so because selling onions noisily is a serious crime in the minds of all perceptive people who crave a little peace and quiet.

I take a more humanistic stance to you though, Bilbo. I would put all the onion sellers on a big ship but at least send them to a seriously remote deserted island!!

cor blimey....thank you someone who talks some fucking sense. Problem with my beloved England ( and trust me i love this country) is that we chose years ago that multiculturalism is more important in the agenda then promoting national pride. For example i cant recall the last English flag i saw....even during the 2006 world cup there was barely any on houses! I am not a british national party member or anything of the like i just do not like living in the fear that in this country people are made to be afraid of those who believe they have a right to attack the innocent. Now dont paint me out to be racist...i just have to say im getting fed up of pussy footing around extremists who do not like the way we act, speak of them etc etc....if such a fucking problem....please be my guest and leave.

I only hope Americans see what England has gone through and see that it doesn't help to try and appease the most hysterical militant elements of society no matter who they are affiliated with. Muslim extremists are desperately trying to change America's laws and culture....and you know what America is a place where you can bring your culture and no one now'a'days will hold it against you but to try and change OUR culture that will not stand! They didn't fight for this country, their ancestors didn't fight for this country, and they moved HERE so as far as changing American culture goes, they can crap in one hand and wish in the other and see which one gets filled first!


I appreciate diversity and other cultures, many people might not think that of me but I do try and understand and respect other cultures but not at the expense of my own....American culture and MY culture is not something to be tossed aside for ANYONE

This particular story is very clever journalism and it does manipulate stupid people. I have actually heard some quite frightening views that seemingly normal people have formed from just reading newspapers like The Sun and The Star.

Example: How many people do you know who said "she looks guilty, she's done it" when they saw a picture Madeleine McCann's Mum on the front page of The Sun, along with a suggestive headline?

Nervermind that that picture used was one of 4,000 that was taken of her that day and they decided to use the picture where she looked least remorseful.

Manipulation at it's finest.
