It's also very bad for recovery, your liver is pre-occupied with getting the poison out of your system when it should be repairing your body after training.
Well If you drink your kidneys and liver are busy filtering alcohol from your system.
Add that to boxers training and competition. The kidney and liver are meant to filter blood clots from bruising and clots which result from impact sports. If the kidneys and liver are too busy dealing with alcohol![]()

I don't think it's what you drink, but rather how much you drink. Probably best to abstain completely while you are training.
I've heard beer is really fattening.
Plus, I'd imagine that over time the alcohol could effect the brain (like natural reflexes and such).
It isn't good for you.
It fucks your system up, the school gym I work out it has this "alcohol board" that has all the shitty facts about booze.
And most of them suck, i've been drinking quite a bit lately and getting a lot rounder too.
So i've stopped all the drinking, and the midnight MCD runs, lol
But basically, it is a lot of carbs your are getting, and I dunno about you but, when I get wasted, a) i drink a lot, the typical non-lite beer is about 150cal, lets say you drink 10, your at 1500 cal, thats a lot, and if you eat anythign on top of that? nachos etc.
And usually after that you don't do much, you don't usually run or burn it off is what i'm saying, so you sleep and it all turns to sugar and makes you fat!
So if you are hardcore serious, don't drink at all, if you do very little.
Only If I run Out During a big fight card.....otherwise we have a mutual understanding
