No he would stay at 3 unless Manny or Floyd lost.
I don't have any beef with people who want to put Marquez or Hopkins higher.
I just believe that Hopkins with two losses to Taylor, which even if you think one was unlucky were still very lacklustre performances, plus a similarly tepid and ugly performance against Winky Wright simply doesn't have the form to be higher than Calzaghe on a p4p ranking.
Lefty you say Calzaghe 'only' beat Kessler and Lacy, but Kessler was a prime, undefeated double world champion who hadn't just beaten but dominated the likes of Librado Andrade, Marcus Beyer, Erik Lucas, Manny Siaca and Antony Mundine. His record was FAR better than Jermain Taylor's when he went on to beat Hopkins twice and he's still considered by most a top 20 p4p fighter with the potential to clean up at 168 now Joe has moved on.
Jeff Lacy was also the great American hope until Calzaghe exposed him, and exposed him brutally, totally and completely.
When the last time Hopkins looked that good against a prime contender?
Marquez again is a great fighter but 2 defeats in the last two years mean's he can't match Joe's impeccable record for me.
But if you want to put Joe lower its fine, after all the issue will be decided either way in only a couple weeks anyway.
