    Default 10 dinner guests

X did a thread like this a long time ago but I thought it good to try it again. So if you had a dream dinner party for 10....who would your guests be and why? It can be anyone amongst the living or dead.

    Bilbo; for sh#ts and giggles.

Bill Haust of the Miami Serpentarium; a legend in the snake world.

Kelly Pavlik; seems a good, humble guy who would be a good chat.

Danny G; just to see what came out of his mouth.

Floyd Mayweather; just to supply Danny G with fodder

Tye Fields; so I could poison him

Rocky from Mask; don't ask why

Bob Foster; to give respect to the dude.

Leon Spinks; to see how well he could chew the steaks I barbecue

Damn, I was going to add Ricky Hatton and left him off. I'll trade Rocky from Mask and put Ricky in his place. I want to see how much food that dude can consume at one sitting

I would be competely pretentious in my dinner guest pickings. I dont recall who I picked last time so I imagine it being some old and some new.

    1) William Burroughs - Anyone who can describe language as a virus and use it as a means of expression is alright by my book

    2) Alfred Hitchcock - Ive become a complete Hitchcock buff and have over 30 of his films on DVD now. Made a dozen films that are nothing less than exceptional

    3) Van Gogh - Great painter and seemingly very volatile to boot. No absinthe at this dinner party!!

    4) Noam Chomsky - The godfather of modern linguistics and has an opinion on every event of recent times.

    5) Bill Murray - Perfect deadpan delivery. My favourite comedic actor alive today.

    6) Peter Cook - Probably the greatest funny man ever.

    7) Oscar Wilde - A slim line Steven Fry! Had some wit and a way with words.

Jean Paul Sartre - Exponent of existentialism and not afraid to venture forth opinions about issues of the day.

    9) Liam Gallagher - Just so Chomsky can be proven wrong about the concept of Universal Grammar! Nah, Gallagher is just comical in all the wrong ways. God help us all if Van Gogh smuggles in some absinthe and shares it with this one.

    10) Steve Coogan - Alan Partridge is sheer genious. Enough said.

Ive just noticed that in the bottom related threads that it was X who started the similar thread from before and not me at all. I posted in there but did not come up with it. My faulty memory.

I will change the main posting to acknowledge that.

I like Ricky Gervais a lot actually. Woody Allen is a great choice too. Not too sure about the Marquis De Sade though!

I was thinking of including a Beatle but George Martin is a very good alternative. James Toney. Need one say more?

    great list miles..

Hitchcock is one of my favs, if not my fav..

and I've read up on Sartre in a few classes, and was drawn to his existentialist beliefs so i had to read deeper, and definitely a fan of his beliefs..

i could say something great about just about everyone you mentioned but those are my two favs.. nice choice
