Lockett will give it his best shot but he has no pedigree at this level.
Lockett will give it his best shot but he has no pedigree at this level.
It's entirely possible I've seen one of his undercard fights if for example highlights were shown on ITV after a Khan fight but if so it doesn't ring a bell.
Although I have freeview its such a pain to get it to work, I always have to unplug and reset it to change channels.
This means that any ITV big fight live I rarely watch the early stuff on ITV 4 so probable have missed a couple of his fights because of that too.
Locket is a decent fighter with heavy hands.but his best weight was 154.he also busts up fairly easily.
its no walkover but Pavlik shouldnt come unstuck here
Yeah a couple of his fights have been ITV4 in recent years but EVERYTHING else SKY.
Hardly any funker had seen Calzaghe till he moved to ITV so it's completely understandable NON Sky people would see these guys like Lockett.. at least your first look will see him sparked out on the deck![]()
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
This fight will be as hard for Pavlik as he himself makes it. Lockett is not world calss and his power didn't carry up to middle, but he's an honest proffesional and somehow worked his way up to no. 1 for the Warren BO. As he pretty much said himself in 1 interview he's surprised he got the fight since he probably thought Pavlik would vacate the least renowned of the belts, but out of all the challengers that got offered the fight after Duddy pulled out, Lockett was the one that grasped the opportunity without making unrealistic financial demands so he should be commended for taking the fight.
Pavlik dose his best moving forward at a decent distance. Lockett is 5'10" so he needs to get to the inside for the wingspan of Pavlik. Easier said than done. Pavlik will keep him at bay with jabs preventing Lockett from using his game plan. If Lockett dose come in he will get caught. Its allot easier to knock a guy out coming in than going away.
But if you watch alot of Pavliks fights he knocks guy out cold who are moving away. Lockett has never faced a guy of this pedigree and certifiably none with this kind of power and and sound technique. I see this one ending ugly in the 2-6 rounds. A first round would not surprise me a bit . This been a year of upsets but I don't see Pavlik coming in unfocused. He will come out with his A game as usual. A kid from northeast Ohio always comes to work and work is what makes us a separate breed up here.
I just think Lockett is not going to be able to smother Pavliks punches and he will get knocked out trying.
Lockett has only a puncher's chance, but it's still a chance. I really don't think that Pavlik is that great, and he will be found out over the next two years. He is being overrated by too many people.
I've been watching Pavlik for a little while now and I am now thinking Lockett may have the key to beating Pavlik. Pavlik leaves that right hand out a long time after throwing it, Lockett just has to time the right off the double jab which he throws regularly and it will be lights out Pavlik. Watching Lockett highlights he definately has the tools to deal with Pavlik maybe even k.o. him if Pavlik gets cocky. Pavliks only chance is gonna be to outbox him and move all night.
Yeah right April Fools!!!
He's overrated because he was close to being the ring's fighter of the year and some of the boxing press gave him more credit than Calzaghe, Mayweather and Manny. Lets be honest - he has won one big fight, and people have gone over the top. As for the Lockett fight, I hope Gary beats him, but could Pavlik have picked a better fight? He's picked someone who will attack, and he will box off the back foot until Lockett gets knackered, and then he'll open up and look good. I like Pavlik, but he hasn't proved himself yet.
