"Sixty forty I kicks yo' ass, Sixty forty I tears yo' ass up" - Roy Jones
we all knew that oscar was going to win. it is just the way he did it that has taken everybody by surprise against a fighter with an amazing chin
"Very few people really understand what it means to be a fighter. I hate it when I hear someone say, 'That fighter doesn't have guts. I hate that, I don't care if you're a world champion six times over or a four-round fighter, to step inside that ring, you have to have guts" Oscar De La Hoya
It was an enjoyable fight to watch, from two ageing veterans, but I have to say that PBF wouldn't break a sweat beating either of them and Ricky hatton would bludgeon the pair of them into retirement.
Lets not get carried away here...
Im surprised Sal hasnt come in on this thread yet!
The battery in his Judah alerter must be running low
the fight was overhyped yes, but it was obvious that Mayorga was not just a pub brawler
well the only people who didnt give credit to PBF came from 3 demographics...Originally Posted by JonesJrMayweather

2. those who do nothing but bitch that PBF isnt fighting margarito
3. those who understand PBF whould have been KTFO if his uncle didnt choke zab

That just sums it up.
Oscar de la Hoya has a longer history than any other active elite fighter today. He's the last fighter of his generation to pull off that kind of performance. Even against Mayorga, thats a big statement. Mayweather has a good chance at beating him, but who cares! Oscar has his own history, and to pull that kind of performance off after a long career and recent defeats speaks volumes for Rich Biatch Golden Boy.
I also think that Oscar de la Hoya DID WHAT HE WAS SUPPOSED TO DO with fighters of less caliber than him. He knocked him out. Everybody loves a knockout. Mayweather couldn't do that with Judah. Remember Mayweather fought the first rounds VERY cautiously, even the later half was the most cautious we've seen of Mayweather in awhile. He wasn't risky or ballsy, in facing Judah, who was a fighter that didn't want to win or fight back after the sixth. Wasn't till the ballshot that Judah woke up mentally from his Boxing A.D.D. (or BADD, heh) and said to himself,"I need to fight back."
Also, guaranteed Mayorga has a better chin than Judah.
