Training went well last night.
Did it at a really high pace and was pumping air after a while.
During the spar session I was sparring Jim, who's got three inches on me, orthodox, power but poor technique.
I started to tire, was getting clipped....needed a break
I jabbed twice, turned and jab straight uppercut to the body....down goes Jimmy and I get a nice two minute break.
Kept the activity high.
Sparred the novice. He actually stopped hitting my guard. He said "aren't you hurt" looking to grab a break, I shook my head and smiled, I plowed into him with my guard up, backing him up. Threw only three shots and he tumbled each time.
Pat of course was a different story. We traded counters, he landed some picture perfect shots to the chin, I set up by crossing to his body, but failed to hook to his head. We made it a messt spar, but I was delighted with it.
Afterward myself and pat went on the mats, practisingf takedowns, sprawling and defence. 5 minutes of defending from him had me well tired and perspiring, but it was brilliant fun!
This morning I'm sore from sprints and mat work, my thighs are stiff and sore, so I regard last night as an excellent success.
