Much respect to Gomez for this. He is taking a big risk getting in the ring with Cotto to begin with; an even bigger one after reading this. He may be fine now, but you never know what might happen in the fight, and he will be getting smashed by Cotto to the body, so I hope no ill effects come from this fight.

In a way it's nice to see a guy who is willing to take these risks, especially when having issues with his body. It's like Gomez is old school in his mentality; will fight anyone, anywhere, at any time just to make his mark in life. The pancrease is no joking matter and hopefully no long term damage will occur because of this.

At least he's not like Sergio Mora; who gets a chance with J. Taylor a while back and won't fight because he wants everything his own way.
