Bunce is an angry man again, citing that Dawson is clearly not going to be great because he was nearly beaten by a 60 fight veteran who was nearly 40.

I seem to remember Rocky Marciano going life and death with a 40 year old veteran to come from behind and win his title as well though so I'll say again Buncy doesn't know what he's talking about.

Dawson is young and is in a division with three of the toughest most battle hardened old men in all of boxing.

He's only going to get better in my opinion and can still go on to to be the future of the division.

Once was enough Nc....but I agree that Dawson showed great spirit and resilience in fighting through the barrage in the later rounds. I'm loath to call it a robbery however, as I had Johnson down and out in 7 & 8 with Dawson ruling the roost.

My girlfriends Setanta keeps freezing, so watching the Cotto card instead. Cintron vs. Margo about to start...

I missed the decision to Dawson-Johnson at the vital moment.

    Ok Tarver Woods up soon.

Tarver is in his home town which will make it all the more hilarious when he gets booed and jeered on his way to the ring

He'll probably have uncles, auntie's and cousins in the crowd throwing fruit at him and calling him a wanker

I really wanted Johnson to win but I had it 7 rounds to 5 for Dawson. Tough break for one of boxing's classiest, toughest, hardest working personalities.

Johnson's post fight reaction was touching. Poor guy has been on the wrong side of too many close/bad decisions.

Yeah, I totally sympathise with Johnson coming close yet again, but he's been a world title holder before, and although he's come close so often, and taken bad decisions more than once, you have to judge each fight on its merit, and Johnson didn't do enough to emphatically take the title for me, so I don't deny Dawson hanging on to his title.

Woods looking confident as he comes into the ring. Disgraceful that Tarver gets to come in second as champion because he holds the IBO belt. He's NOT a champion of nothing except his ego. That just riled me, come on Clinton, KNOCK THIS CHUMP OUT! That guy has an ego the size of Texas, sadly, he's on the same intellectual level as George Dubya.

Next up its fight time, and I really hope Woods does it now. As if Tarver's bauble is counted as a world title. Someone needs to slap some sense into that boy.

Both fighters look fairly relaxed in there, and Tarver's also got some ridiculous shadow of a mustache. I've been looking forward to this one since the last big fight, and Tarver looks fairly nervous when it actually comes to the introductions. He also looks quite gaunt in the face , not someone from the bigger divisions. He does however get a big reception from the home fans, and a fair share of boos from the Brits. Woods gets even more boos though, with the English flags flying in the ring to boot. The enthusiastic bell ringer keeps banging away at it.

    Round 1:

Cagey opening by both guys, with jabs from each being parried. Woods glances a jab with the first landing blow. Straight right lands from Tarver, but a body shot from Woods dug in. Body shot from Tarver, but woods gets another one in. Right hook and body shot from Woods. Left hook from Tarver. Tarver fi nding a rhythm, but takes a jab from Woods. And another. Body shot from Tarver blocked, this is still cagey stuff. Jab from Woods, but a counter left glances off Woods. Straight right from Tarver blocked. Body shot from Woods as Tarver falls short.

Close round, probably edged by Tarver.

    Round 2:

Woods' movement is good, and catches Tarver on the waty in with a jab and a body shot. Then catches Tarver on the ropes, andanother body shot. Tarver jabs all caught on the gloves. Body shot from Woods. Tarver lands a jab. Jab and hook again from Woods. Jab lands again, and Tarver doesn't like the corners. Tarver throwing token hooks all blocked. Body shot from Woods. Tarver lands to the body, no venom on it though.Huge right to the body from Woods, and Tarver buckels into a clinch. Tarver with a straight left. Body shot from Woods again. Jab and right hook, but Woods to the body again. Two more to the body, and tarver with an uppercut and a hook in the last few seconds.

    Woods dominated that one.

    Round 3:

Tarver looks vulnerable to the body. Jab from Woods, and blocks a hook. Right hook from Tarver gets through. Body shot and a right hook from Woods, and another left. Tarver with a nice jab, and a body shot. Woods lands a firm jab. Tarver swings to the body, but a left from Woods lands. Tarver throwingmore, but has a hard time breaking the guard. Tarver with three to the body. Two more too. Woods a little static at the moment. Right to the body from Woods, then a counter right from him too. Body shot from Woods, and a left hook, and Tarver ducks into a clinch. Short right, after a Tarver flurry finds the guard. Jab and right uppercut, then two body shots from Woods.

Quiet round, neither man really doing enough to claim it.

Cheers for the update. Cotto in 4 now I hope.

    Round 4:

Jab and straight right from Woods. Body shot lands too, and Tarver is circling. Good right hook lands, then blocks a left from Tarver. Woods to the body again, then a fine jab. Tarver isn't doing much at all. Woodswith a jab. Body shot then a left hook, and a second body shot too, Tarver spins way from the attack though. Tarever lands a good jab and straight left. Flurry from Tarver blocked, then Woods to the body. Tarver glances Woods with an uppercut. Two body shots from Woods and Tarver backs off. Tarver with an uppercut, but takes two body shots in return. Tarver lands a jab, but Woods digs to the body.

I though Woods edged it, with Tarver all razzle and little dazzle so far.
