Yet again we see Steward in the corner being completely ineffective because none of his fighters feel comfortable with him or confident in him.

Steward has got to get his act together as a trainer. His only winner Wlad is like a sedative. His 2nd coming Andy Lee got spanked. Jermain Taylor left him and then had one of his best fights right after (the controversial pavlik rematch).

I think he is being disrespectful to the fighters he trains by having so many of them. There is no way he can spread himself out that much and still be effective. He's just going to continue to get good fighters and make them lose or become boring. There are many better trainers out there, Steward is just a name until he concentrates more on actual training.
Valid points Cortez, but I don't care who the trainer is when someone with an elementary mentality goes into a fight with a quitters mind.
Getting it right in training with a full focus from your trainer can really help to minimize and help to turn around a quitters mentality...it's a part of the trainers job if required....

It's both mental and physical don't ya think bud..

Of course it's both physical and mental; but how is a trainer going to teach a cur boy quitter how to have heart? He can't fight for him when the going gets tough; and once a guy starts to panick and fold for fear of getting an ass whooping, all that training, talk and coddling before the fight won't do a thing for someone who isn't a natural born fighter and has almost no heart.

Maybe Curmit should walk the yellow brick road with Dorothy and ask the Wizard for a heart along with the lion man.
It takes guts to get in the ring; it takes more to actually stay in when things aren't going your way. That dude wanted out of that ring last night at the 4th round. Good riddance.
