It does depend on who is going after who....whether you like it or not the guy the crowd wants to see fight is COTTO and not Floyd and that paired with Floyd going after Cotto it means that Miguel Cotto can leverage all of his popularity and if he beats Margarito he'll have 2 belts at welterweight and that's even more leverage.

Miguel Cotto is at the top of his game he's beaten better competition at welterweight than Floyd has and he's KO'd a lot more guys than Floyd and he's won in more dominating fashion

Im a fan of both fighters i am a bigger fan of Mayweather's, but i pretty much agree with everyone else here. Cotto isn't wasting his time calling Mayweather out for a few reasons. 1 Mayweather isn't going to accept the fight at this time he has made that perfectly clear, and 2 Mayweather already has a fight scheduled so its a waste of time.

Like Amat already pointed out Margarito called out Mayweather constantly he even went up to Mayweather's face and demanded the fight but where did that get him ?? nowhere. So Cotto is doing the right thing eliminating every big name at Welterweight so he can force the fight to happen the good old fashioned way.

I have to say though that i am disappointed with some people on this forum, i think its way too early to say Mayweather is ducking anyone, and secondly everyone in 2006 was saying Mayweather was ducking Hatton, Oscar, and he needed to fight these guys to seal his legacy blah blah, but when he beats both of these fighters he then gets crap from fans saying that these wins don't mean nothing because ODLH is old and past his prime, even though they were saying before the fight that this was a big risk fight for Mayweather, and after Hatton beat Castillo i remember plenty of people here giving Hatton a chance against Mayweather. Then when Mayweather outclasses Hatton and KO's him impressively fans then say. Well it was at Welterweight so that win doesn't mean a whole lot, even though Hatton was top 10 P4P fighter.

I disagree. If you're going to look at PPV numbers PBF cant sell neither without boxing stars with a huge fan base (Oscar and Hatton). PBF sold 325k with Baldomir and 350k with Judah. Cotto vs Judah did poor with just a little over 200k but Cotto vs Mosley did 400k.

NewsFlash: floyd is no longer at the top of the ww division for all those who havent realized.

Cotto is the #1 guy.

We all know floyd craves attention and Cotto is not gonna be the one to give it to him. He'll just keep winning and building his own legacy. (a real legacy at that)

Everyone with even an ounce of common sense knows that floyd is not gonna take any chances so why waste time and effort trying to lure a guy into the ring that is too afraid.
