Calzaghe by a significant margin. Cant even seeing it all that close if Calzaghe brings his recent form.

a close fight i see going hopkins way.

If Taylor beat him twice a coupla years ago Joe will definitely beat him now.
It's been said before though, Joe earns no credit when he wins. It's a lose-lose situation. Almost anyway, VD being wrong again will make up for it for me.

I voted for Hopkins mainly because it's being fought in the USA. That should suit Bernard. Otherwise I don't know what the difference will be.

you think hopkins can't win because of two close losses to jermain taylor??
in the first fight his gameplan was to relie on taylor getting tired later and take control, it was't the best gameplan by hop and he took too long waiting for jermain too tire. he learned from that mistake as it showed in the second taylor fight were he started quicker and i felt he won a UD 115-113. he confirmed he learned from his mistake against taylor in the first fight by his performances in the tarver and wright fight.

Kessler hits harder than Hopkins. Hopkins has to conserve energy at his age and Calzaghe will give him no option but to throw back. Hopkins will get so tired he might even be stopped.
Hopkins knows he will lose, I really think that. All these blown up Welters he has fought have done fuck all at the weight they fought Bernard at. Does that not tell you something? Tarver was lucky to get a fucked RJJ in the ring and everyone seems to think that was a great win for Hopkins because of that.
Hopkins best performance was againsed RJJ because he actually won about 3-4 rounds.

kessler and hopkins styles are different, Hopkins is crafty fights dirty, better defensive, better counter puncher, better inside and has better movement around the ring, he is also way more experienced at fighting southpaws. hopkins will not get stopped and vice versa.
another thing if hopkins thought he would lose he wouldn't of taken the fight, he ain't stupid. he's all business.

Toss up in my book, everything points toward calzaghe, but hopkins is just so smart and sneaky. He knows and has seen way too much in the ring to be counted out so easy. Just like most fights i really don't care who wins so i usually go against the grain in my picks when it's this close, so i choose hopkins. It wouldn't surprise me to see hopkins get himself DQ'ed before he lets joe beat him.

At his age, Hopkins can't really fight for 3 minutes of every round anymore, so I think Calzaghe's activity level will bother him.
Hopkins is a master at making his opponents look bad and taking away their best weapons, but Calzaghe is such an unorthodox fighter that I think it's tougher to gameplan for him than other opponents.
So I'm picking Calzaghe by a close decision in an ugly sloppy fight. But it's awfully hard to go against Hopkins, the betting odds are much more in favor of Calzaghe than they should be. Hopkins is still a very tough guy to beat.

Hopkins!!
He must break Joe's constant rythem AND do not rely on the Pot shot so much early. He has to bring the Reality to Calzaghe very early on Physically and mentally.
