Personally I saw the fight I expected to see. Calzaghe was never going to go in there looking to take Hopkins out - that would have been stupid against a man with the counterpunching skills of Hopkins. Hopkins I think realised that he was going to get out punched volume wise from round 4. That meant a long night for both fighters.

I don't see that anyone was really outclassed or exposed. Hopkins lost to a younger, fresher undefeated, undisputed champion - no shame in that. Calzaghe fought the game plan he needed to against a cagey, experienced future hall of fame inductee - no shame in that.

The only shame was Hopkins comments afterwards. A true champion should take defeat the same way he takes victory... that's how it always used to be.... or maybe I'm just getting old
Well said. Were all getting old bro.I blame it on the boxing lol.Agree with you full bore here.Respect is important in this game,Calzaghe Is due that.Hopkins is having a hard time dealing with reality of a long career staring him in the face, but he has to stop denying it Imo.He has always run off at the mouth, loves to be the villian.Mouth often over shadows his skills and Ive winced more than once when he does his Wtf moments.
