I think Pavlick is young, fresh and has the power to stop Joe. I would call it 50/50.

Joe is in top now and should do what Lennox did and bow out at the top (although I think B-Hop deserves a rematch)

    Thoughts?
I think Pavlik could stop Calzaghe, Hopkins hit him over and over again with straight right hands, so did Robin Reid and Richie Woodhall, the difference is Pavlik is a much bigger puncher than all of the boxers i just mentioned, i can't see Calzaghe keep getting hit with Pavlik's right hand. And plus Calzaghe is starting to look a bit worn out IMO, his combinations against Hopkins were nowhere near as fast or good as they used to be, and his jab didn't have no snap on it either.
Agree with this, if Calzaghe fights like at the weekend he gets stopped late on against Pavlik. He COULD beat Pavlik if he stuck to his in and out boxing, but like you said the speed isn't there in his combinations anymore and he wouldn't be able to outland Pavlik in close, he used to get away with this sort of trading a few years back because his punches were faster tyhan his opponents with enough sting on them. Add to this that his left hand hasn't been a legitimate threat for a good few years he's likely too be outfought by the younger man.

And plus if we are talking about 8 years ago, Calzaghe also used to have the power to make his opponent's respect his power. Remember he almost had 100 percent KO/TKO record going into Eubank fight, thats what also worries me about Pavlik is that he won't be able to get any respect from Pavlik because the power isn't there anymore, neither is the ferocity or speed of the combinations.

Exactly, his flurries are just cheap imitations of what he used to throw, while he wasn't a devastating puncher, each shot would rock they guy back and forth, and because he was faster they were unable to compete in close. Somone made a great remark in another thread that he looks like a cat pawing a ball of thread when he does it now, Kessler and Hopkins were able to soak it up and occasionally nail him mid flurry.
