    Let the justifications begin

Like I said...If you think Calzaghe does not know how to muck it up & get rough also...your kidding yourself

A pro will exploit any advantage he can; A cut, Swelling, A broken rib.

A pro will also break the rules if he is allowed get away with it.

We saw this from both sides.

It's part of the sport. I don't blame him. Look at my man BHop? Lunges with his head, turns you away from the ref and hit's on the hip, rubs his head into yours on a clinch... Call it dirty... Call it what you will but if you look you'll see only the most skilled fighters can get away with it... Only the most crafty. It's a type of skill in boxing.

These boxing news sites deliberately take comments out of context just to create forum barneys.. it must be so

Although it is kinda ironic Calzaghe accuses Hopkins of cheating yet is boasting about trying to bash his goolies....

And technically getting tapped in the balls but making people think you've been shot in them makes you a good actor not a crap one.

So Joe is admitting he intentionally low blowed Hopkins just because he was embarassed he got put on the floor in the 1st round? That is somewhat cowardly in my eyes. Pretty sad when a guy gets legit knocked down and then says he retaliated unfairly just to get his dig in Then again, Hopkins is no angel of goodness.

    I want a rematch

The only shame is he did not hit Hopkins in the balls harder. I want to see one of those blatant, deliberate wind up power low blows ala Hatton-Tszyu. Not a little slap on the belt line. What a waste!

Oddly, I thought it looked very unintentional when I watched it, even on the replays.

I think it was unintentional if you ask me... He's trying to sound a little harder then he is.

If Hopkins had`ve fought a clean fight then the low blows would have been out of order. But Hopkins wanted to fight rough and intimidate Calzaghe. If Calzaghe hadnt`ve roughed Hopkins up it would have given Hopkins extra confidence as Calzaghe would have appeared timid.
Calzaghe bullied Hopkins back and from the 10th round Hopkins was looking extremely uncomfortable.

I'm with you on this P.O.B.

    I thought the same thing.

While I agree it is a bit cowardly, I think it's more an example of fighting fire with fire than anything else. Calzaghe knew Hopkins was going to be as dirty as he could, and he probably just wanted to show B-Hop that he could bully him back.

Yeah, I get what most are saying, that's why I said Hopkins is no angel himself....by any means

If he would of kicked him in the balls, that would have been different

That would've been hilarious, probably would've been the most exciting part of the fight.
On a related note, did you guys find it to be a good fight? I found it very technical and somewhat lacking in action, aside from when Hopkins was able to land the right hand. I ask that because I was listening to sports radio at work yesterday, and one of the guys was talking about how he thought it was "a great fight"
