I just saw it tonight for the first time.

So how do you think the ending is to be interpreted?

They've got more Sopranos episodes? I'd heard it ended off suddenly and just cut off in mid-sentence. A piss poor way to end a show (as I'm sure EVERYONE agrees).

That's an even bigger rip-off than those soap-operas, where right when something exciting is about to happen, they go on a looooong ass commercial break, every single friggin' time.

i think the whole cutting out instantly to black was to symbolize an instant death from getting shot in the head... ie. instant blackness. but still, that's just a guess. Many people have the same theory, but there are others.

I liked the ending.
It left the series open for your own conclusion.

There was an alternate ending filmed that made more sense. Can see why they opted for the one they did though given there may be a movie out

The series creator has denied the movie is actually being planned, whilst the owner of the Bada Bing strip club (not it's real name) has been approached and told not to change the interior because they want to use it.
