So Straight Talking John McCain pandering to various GOP constituencies for their 2008 election support by reversing his previous positions isn't flip flopping?
You're just an apologist for a flip flopper.

As for Hillary being "eliminated" already, well Obama can be made to not reach the ammount needed for the victory as well just by Hil staying in the race AND if this thing goes to the Convention I have the strange feeling ol' Barry will get jobbed.
Cigarette taxes are pointless, they don't keep people from smoking, they don't bring in more money than they eventually cost the taxpayers either healthcare costs etc.
Don't get me wrong, I love tobacco, it's the #1 reason North carolina has great schools as well but that's from the evil "Big Tobacco" and not cigarette taxes.
For a politician trying to keep his job and get support for a general election is ok....flip flopping isn't bad, it's bad flip floppers that are.
For example John Kerry got all flustered and annoyed with being called a flip flopper and BANG the label stuck to him, McCain has sold his "Straight Talk" and he's done well with it. Also McCain is more of your normal everyday buddy than the democrat's wine snob elites....may not make a difference to you but to Joe Sixpack it's a big difference.
Also the things McCain say are more like "America is already great" vs Obama and Hillary saying "America sucks and I can change it"....people don't want to hear that America sucks and it doesn't....we just have our ups and downs like anyone else, no reason to say we suck or to villianize any LEGAL citizens here
Kerry was called a flip flopper despite the fact that Bush had a much bigger list of flip flops. The liberal media only called kerry the flip flopper. Same with Straight Talking John McCain, who is even more full of shit than George Bush. The fact he's a flip flopping panderer won't get a mention in the media this campaign. And McCain is as much a normal American as fourth-generation Connecticut banking family scion and Harvard legacy George Bush is. It's all just bs yet there doesn't appear to be any bs you won't happily accept.
Hey it's not THAT you flip flop it's HOW you flip flop...ALL politicians do it, some are just better at it than others
If I "buy into" this Republican BS then of course you "buy into" the Democrat BS....not recognizing that you do just makes debating you a little more frustrating but it doesn't make the facts any different. You drink a different flavor of Kool Aid is all....most people do on at least 1 or 2 major issues.
You point a finger and you have 3 pointing right back at you, so don't accuse me of being biased politically when you yourself are just as biased only in a different direction.
The time line on ther war was just that...a LINE.Its said to comfort and make the American people feel betteror not .Realisticly we are not pulling out of Iraq any time soon regardless of who Is President. This was not thought out and was Ill conceived and Badly executed only by the Politico's from Jump off and devolved into a big foul photo op.Forget about comparing our presence in Japan,South Korea,Germany,Etc to Iraq.We will take numerous Hits and have casualties for years as long as we have a substantial presence In Country. This Is religious on a huge scale...not mainly economic or Political.
As for Obauma.....Who?Just a little green for me.Clinton will motivate the Rights machine like no one ever has....Thay want her to win The Primary. In 2000 I would have voted for McCain,The way Bush went after him was gutless and desperate. Now Im not so sure.
I owe you rep Spicoli, I agree 100% with everything you posted, bar the stuff about not being sure about McCain. I have always liked McCain and always will.
I doubt we're going to take as many hits in country as people think, we have bases in countries who really despise us more than Iraq, Saudia Arabia for one and we usually don't take any hits there.
We're in Iraq for the long haul...this is typical though for any western nation to go to war in the middle east since the dawn of time we've been fighting and I doubt we stop anytime soon
Just my 2 bits worth here... I don't know who I want to win... All I can do is pray that whoever will be best to get this country out of the slope it's in will win, whoever he/she is.
I've learned a thing or 2 about wanting a certain person to win without knowing a whole lot about politics (I don't know anything). When Bush got elected I wanted him to win against Al Gore. I was only an 8th grader then (I knew even less than the tiny bit I know now, and back then I had as much common sense cents as a dollar bill... But still, I wanted Bush to win and I pretty much had no reason for wanting him to win at all, except I liked the fact his dad had also been a president. 'Course, like I said, I was just a child back then and besides, I never voted anyway because I was too young!!
(That's why children don't vote
)
Thanks Lyle.Good to air out the politics at times and you do it well.I have big respect for McCain as a man.I do not judge a man/woman by the letter aside there name on the Tube.We get to caught up in party afiliations and loose sight of the bigger picture that it is OUR Interest that are at stake when we elect any of these guys and gals into office. Are those Interest and There Due Immportance guarenteed...History says Nay.I am Registered as an Independent....That statement in and of itself is pretty backwards tough. The thing about Iraq is its almost a dump off and training ground for future and present Enemys,They do not Hit us in Saudi Arabia everyday but in a round about way They got all they wanted when using our forces there as Justification for Bin Ladens big hit that September Morning. Its Close to home when I see some catch phrase suit & tie wagging there finger at the citizens when it comes to OUR friends and familys paying the price. We can be so naive at times and should always ask questions of our elected officials.Man,this sounds uptight....rough day! Rep to ya Lyle.
fuck hillary just won penn state ARGGGGGGGGGGGH
turns out a while back when Barock was in sunny old blighty....he adopted a london football (soccer) club....known as WEST HAM UNITED! which happens to be my team....so here's to hoping he gets voted in![]()
I'm wanting McCain to win but only because I want him to continue the same dumbass policies that are screwing America up. Continuing them to their logical ends is the only way enough Americans are going to start paying attention to what's going on. At the minute you can live in your own fantasy world where facts don't matter, so things will have to get really bad before enough of you actually pay attention. McCain is just the man to do that.
The Iraq war is entirely about oil and the economy, as is every other foreign policy move America and Britain have made in that region in the last century. If two-thirds of the world's conventional oil reserves were under the Saharan desert instead of the Arabian desert we'd occasionally be warned by our governments that some tinpot little Saharan dictator was a clear and present threat to our national security that needed immediate military action, and the Middle East would get as much attention as, well, sub-Saharan Africa does today.
....I'm glad people don't share your cheerful attitude Kirkland. I'm hoping you don't work at a suicide hotline
