    Seriously I couldn't believe that. Never seen that before. He liked that fight to much, didn't want it to end.

    What Mickey Vann did was great on the night (especially for our entertainment sake) but with hindsight that was a serious wrong'un. He took a gamble that he shouldn't have.

    Yeah I agree. A referee should never throw a towel back that is ignoring a fighter's safety especially considering no one knows their man better then the cornerman.

    Earls trainer split with him after that fight because he believed he was finished. Next fight he lasted 90 seconds with Khan. Maybe he was right.

    That would be Ref. Eddie Eckert who started getting the big fights in the late 80's after paying his dues for some years. Eckert is more remembered for being the Ref. at a lot of the MAJOR lower weight fights.

    Not only did he do that with the tape he also caught the mouth piece as it flew out and then quickly put it back in place.

    I see your point Fens, but that's why Smoger is a well respected Ref. who is liked. Cause he knows when to let a fight go and when to stop it.
