    Default 10 000 Bc

Anybody watched this? I had heard the reviews were awful and I was expecting an absolute turkwy but I watched it tonight and thorougly enjoyed it.

Yes it's completely historically inaccurate, yes the story is hokum but honestly for what it was I thought it was brilliant.

The special effects were excellent, there were wooly mammoth's, giant Moa type birds, a sabre toothed tiger and a host of various mean looking caveman, tribesman, warriors and mages.

It was part Apocalypto, part King Kong and part 300.

Don't know why it got such bad reviews, it definitely held my interest.

    7/10

I heard it made God look like the bad guy and that he wasn't real. That's why they said it got bad reviews, but I've never seen it myself, so I don't really know.

I didn't think about God the entire movie to be honest

That movie was god-awful. Excluding IMAX's, it was the 1st movie I went to see in the theatre since the third Lord of the Rings. To be fair, I study pre-history, so maybe I looked at it with too critical an eye.
The plot sucked, the acting sucked, the action scenes were mediocre, the special effects didn't impress me, my grandfather fell asleep during it, and I spent the whole time wondering if I should get up and leave but I couldn't leave because I the whole purpose in going was to see a movie with my grandfather like we did when I was young.
    At best I'd give it a 3/10.

Clubber: The movie had nothing to do with God, the only "God" in it was the Egpytian Pharoh or whatever he was supposed to be.

lol perhaps I'm more easily pleased.

My level of thinking thinking was limited to pretty much, 'wow a Sabre Tooth...........COOL!'

I had some very high expectations of it and I found it somewhat boring. The movie should have been made a cartoon and it would have been much better.

Honestly, I did not finish watching it. I stopped when they arrived in Egypt(?).
    I rate it 3/10.

I was supposed to watch it in a theater during the last full show but the management in the theater decided not to continue coz there were only 3 people left to watch it. I was supposed to be the fourth. So I decided to buy a pirated dvd and watched it at home.

The sabre tooth was cool. However, it would have been a lot cooler if it had just eaten the main character when they were in that pit. Then the movie could've ended and I would not have wasted another hour watching that shit.

This is the sort of movie that easily entertains me for 2 hours... I'm easily pleased I suppose..

I liked the first Alien vs Predator when pretty much no one else did.. Hell i've watched it 5 times now... I havn't given the second one a go, but even Bilbo didn't like that... I'll see how easily pleased I am when I rent that one in a few days..

I can see how if you were an expert on history though, this movie would probably be hard to let yourself fall into, when everything feels very unaccurate & inauthentic compared the reality of history you are so familiar with...

come off it, that film was a COMPLETE rip off of apocalyto for fuck sake.

how gibson didn't sue the shit out of them is mind blowing....

In that apocalypto flick you got these guys talking about the gezer who runs with a panther aint it? in this one they got the guy who talks to a tiger as the the one who takes them down.

You got his family in apocalypto in a hole that fills up with rain, in this one he falls in it.

They both are set around their tribe being taken to some unseen massive place to be made into slaves to build this massive city, something that was unheard of at their time.

same film different title and place.

Its funny you say that man because when I watching 10000 BC I was thinking the same thing.

It pretty much is the same film just different place and time.

I enjoyed Apocalypto more though even with the subtitles.

Anyone watch Charlie Wilsons war. I just rented that and thought it was a pretty decent flick.
