As someone who has a step-father (who I don't speak to, but that's besides the point) I know how difficult the situation JT is in can be. If anything he deserves to be commended for providing for, and being a father to, those children. Using his family situation against him as an insult is an immature thing to do. The only reason anyone knows about JT's step-kids is because he made a thread about it asking for advice a while back, something that took a great deal of courage.
Him and Pride clearly have an ongoing, but friendly, fued. They obviously know each other well and that is why Pride is permitted to make those comments. It's not a whole lot different than if someone used the thread I made about my mom a while back to make fun of me; I know I would be pretty unhappy if someone did that to me, particularily a long-standing member of the forum. Insult someone on a personal level all you want, but leave the guys family out of it as you sure as shit wouldn't say something like that to his face.
