Yes more secure without doubt, but as with anything connected to the internet there are still flaws and you can end up with viruses. Should be fine with an anti-virus program running though.
I think firefox has better features aswell, and a better bookmarks/favourites system than IE. Try it out.

Like they say, "too much is not always good". How often do you guys sweep your PC for viruses? I do it everyday. Is that good or bad?

I visit a lot of sites for front page news...See what is going on out there and a lot of the places have pop ups that leave junk in my comp...So I just scheduale my anti virus to do an automatic check every other day...I set it for like 3am this was I am not on the comp and it does a good 60 deep scan....The deep scan is important...Catches a lot of the stuff quick scans miss...
There is a program called Glary utilities that is a nifty one to keep your PC running smooth...You can download it free

I should really scan my computer more often also as i have some important stuff knockin about on it now! Think i'll look into that Glary utilities if your recommending it. All i have is AVG free, which seems to do a good enough job, though I haven't done a full scan for a while now!
