    Default slow speeds of transfer

now guys, i know this is a great idea, and i have 2 meg bband, but the dl rates are insanely slow.
if i download from another source im getting a transfer rate of around 50kb/sec minumum, whereas on this programme im getting 4 kb/sec maximum
    whats going on?

Any other sites we could possibly use?

All that comes to mind is yousendit- but they only allow I think 3 downloads per file. That won't cut it.

Unless of course you use yousendit and simultaneously upload 3 or 4 copies of it, and provide all the links. If one doesn't work, try the next one. It would download much faster.

    ok guys
the programme we are using is hilariousely slow
there are other programmes, also free that will provide much quicker upload/download rates, also free
if anyone fancies giving it a go, youll cut your download times by around 10 times!

I still think you can upload one video 2 or 3 times simultaneously using yousendit.com, and then post the link for each one. It allows I think 3 downloads per each upload so if you upload it several times in different windows, all at once and give all the links, people can just click the first one. If that one has been used too much, try the second link provided. And the download is much faster.

Do you understand? Do you think it's any good?

Yousendit.com is sort of similar to megaupload, but it does generate better download speeds and allows for larger files to be tranferred.

The problem is they have a limit. For every file uploaded only 3 downloads are permitted, and then the link goes dead.

The thought was that when you upload a video, just open up the site several times at once, in different windows. Start uploading the same video into each window simultaneously. Then, when they're all done, provide each link on the forum. Whoever wants to download the file can download off any of the links. If one has already been used up the maximum of three times, just try a different one of the links.

    Clearer?

Whilst I understand the annoyance Alex it is a price worth paying, for instance if someone had not seen Corrales Vs Castillo, or Hatton Tszyu I think waiting a couple of days to download it isnt too big an ask, this thread has been running two days, you could have had Hatton Tszyu downloaded in that time

ive havent seen either of those fights!
is Corrales Vs Castillo availabe to download on the forum?
    my only concern is
1: i have to pay my part of the electricity bill in my house, and leaving the computer on for 2 days isnt gonna help
2: will my computer overheat? im gonna have to leave it on for 40 hours, will it be ok with that?

Fair enough with the electricity bill, but if you think about it a little more electricity once a month or so for the big fights (if no one else does it I will upload Corrales Castillo as soon as I have my PC back for you) isnt going to kill you.

Your computer will survive the night my PC is never turned off.

Ive just downloaded Tyson McBride in about an hour
