Lyle how do you figure Obama is to leftist to win? You're making him sound like he's Dennis Kucinich here.

And Hillary and her supporters are so thick to think she should keep running, it's like they are embarrassed to pull out even though they can't play the numbers game anymore, they can't afford to keep running an election and the Obama campaign is going to pay off most of those campaign debts. It's ridiculous, SHE CAN'T WIN. If we want to hold primaries, then there is no way for her to win. Why can't she acknowledge that and just leave. And fuck a "dream ticket", get Bill Richardson and leave the Clintons out of it.
Obama is the most liberal senator out there. He hasn't proposed ANY legislation and he's got little experience in big time politics.
John McCain has continuously worked with both Republicans AND DEMOCRATS and has done so more than Hillary or Obama both of whom would rather berate and belittle the Republicans.
McCain voted with Republicans with 88.3% of the time....not 100% not even really that close.
Hillary voted with Democrats 97.2 % of the time
Obama voted WITH the Democrats 96.7% of the time
So tell me who again is towing that party line![]()
What will the Democrats do to McCain in the general election
Well they'll belittle him, they'll call him old, and they'll try to make him seem like he's as big of a political fuckwit as George W. Bush.
John McCain is the embodiment of patriotism, he is a true leader, he has tons of experience and he's not going to pander to the crowd as much as the Democrats.
Tell me what CHANGE Obama brings to the table? Higher taxes? Meeting with despotic leaders and therefore validating their governments? Withdrawing from Iraq before they are ready and therefore insuring a big brawl between Iran and Saudi Arabia and making oil prices skyrocket higher and maybe drawing us BACK into Iraq in a fight vs Iran this time?
Sure gotta love "Change".....you know sometimes change ain't that great

Lyle, no offense, but McCain panders to whoever will listen to him as well. You should admit that the trio is a bery weak set of candidates.

I don't know much about politics, but all I can say is this:
If our next president is even half as bad as George Bush, this country is done for. You might as well blow it off the map, at least then it will be a quick painless death. Only 7 more months until that hellbound douchebag is out of office, and it will be the longest 7 month wait we've ever endured.![]()

Worry not. Obama can't win, and either Clinton or McCain will be much better than Bush. So we'll probably have McCain. That will be a vast improvement.
Boozer - this is the best set of candidates we've had in a long time. They might not be great, but compared to Bush vs Kerry, we're looking at the best and the brightest.

I have two problems with John McCain.
1. He will appoint right leaning supreme justices. Considering I'm pretty much a libertarian on social issues, this bothers me. I don't like it when republicans preach small government, but then advocate government involvement in people's private life.
2. He, self-admittedly, doesn't know much about the economy.
That being said, I can live with McCain. If it comes down to McCain vs Obama, I'm voting for Johnny Mac.
I have one problem with Hillary.
She'll a fucking liar and she is shapes her identity to fit what the polls said is should be. I prefer a real leader. McCain as a close to that as we're likely to get. But then again, most politicians are full of shit. McCain is just less full it than the other two. People criticize Hillary's integrity, fair enough, but Nixon was the crookedest president we've every had and overall, he did some good things when he wasn't planting bugs and covering up breakins.
I agree more with Clinton on social issues, and economically (overall) she's not as left as people think. Remember it was her husband who balanced the budget. I don't love her, but I can live with her, too. On the economy and foreign policy, I'm mostly centrist, and Hillary will play one on TV during her presidency on foreign policy and the economy. One the issues for which the right really hates her - abortion, gay marriage, school prayer, school vouchers, immigration, I'm with her anyway. And while I'm ranting, somebody needs to nut up and propose a bill to decriminalize marijuana. Policing that stuff is a waste of my damn tax dollars.
Obama just scares me. He's a baby in the woods. He's not qualified to lead a major city. He'll be just like Deval Patrick here in MA - all idea, ra-ra, hope, and "outsider" talk, but once he gets in, he will screw everything up because he doesn't know what the hell he's doing. He'll appoint incompetent people to key positions. He'll congress with mock him, and won't have clue about how to deal with foreign policy.
Hopefully, the superdelegates will realize this and undo the damage caused by all those stupid caucuses, without which Obama would have never gained momentum. If the dems want to win, they will find a way to veto Obama at the convention and nominate Hillary.
Either McCain or Hillary will keep the nation safe, undo some of Bushes screwups, and generally do a halfway decent job.
Now I'm an independent, but I vote democrat more than republican. If Hillary wins, I'll grudgingly vote for her. If Obama wins, that leaves me no choice but McCain, and this is why Obama can't win. McCain will pull in the Reagan democrats and independents. Obama will be left with nothing but African-Americans and limousine liberals.
In order to say safe and not have my tax dollars not completely squandered, I'll have to deal with McCain continuing the Republican tradition of making federal courts that want to turn this country into semi-fascist theocracy. Tough choice, but I'll choose national security and continuing to have a good job.

Or they could try pointing out he cheated on his first wife, his second wife got so addicted to percodan and vicodin that she stole it from her own charity,he's voted for every single thing Bush has wanted damn nigh, and Mr "Open Goverment"'s wife also refuses to let her tax records be opened, even though all the other canidates and their spouses have. And the guy he hand picked to run the national convention had to resign because his lobbying firm go $500K from the military junta in Myanmar
I mean, those are good jumping off points
