Cool Re: WBA, WBC, IBF, etc

I've got to go with WBA still. It is the oldest of the Belts and still makes the most sense of this mess we have in boxing. Before 1962 it was called the NBA National Boxing Association.<----Food for thought

Ring title is obviously the most credible due to the fact it is a title that is won, you can not be stripped of it, it does not matter who your promoter is, it is simply what a wold champion is..."The man who beat the champion"

    Out of the ABC titles,

WBC- Most recognized, biggest financial backing, most coveted

IBF- Seems to be the least contraversial out of the original big 3 (WBC, WBA, IBF)...swayed least by promoter influence

WBA- At one time I considered them the most legit out of the organizations until they started with all this...Super Champion, World Champion, Champion of the Hour, Champion while the other guy goes to visit his sister, Champion sometimes but only if we are not mad at him then forget it we don't know who he is but if any of the other champions are busy he can fill in for a minute....The place is lacking direction

WBO- At one time almost unheard of..Not even taken the slightest bit seriously, the NABF and USBA titles were more coveted...but the WBO has stuck around and has had some great champions over the last decade and a half....

De La Hoya, Barrera, Cotto, Calzaghe, Both Klitschko Brothers, Mercer, Margarito etc....They seem focused on themselves and pick up more credibility as time goes on....IMO in 5 or so years it will top both the WBA and IBF....

IBO- I am not really sure this is a title....It seems like every time we have a champion wiuth more then one of the big 4 the IBO title somehow shows up in his collection....He didn't have it before and you can never remember him fighting to win it....Plus when he loses all the other titles he somehow seems to keep that one.....It is kind of like a bonus belt....Win 2 get ours free....

The Ring should b the only 1 that matters, and is the only 1 that matters 2 me these days. The Alphabets are doing more damage 2 the Sport than the dodgy promoters, hopefully 1 day Boxers and promoters get sick of them and start taking the Ring belt more sereously, and the Alphabets die off! Cant see it happening anytime soon.

For true Standard Setting and accuracy, you cannot beat the World Boxing Federation. I mean, check them out, Riddick Bowe is ranked 3rd

    World Boxing Federation

Go into their Calendar of events and scroll down. Bash Ali is still their Champion at Cruiser, but he has not fought in 4 years and he is 52 years old.
