Naz had great reflexes, timing, and power, but his skills werent great. He got away with a lot of mistakes because of his quickness but he lacked good form, footwork, balance, etc. He was great at what he did but he was not a great boxer.

Psalm 144: Blessed be the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle
In that fight Naseem Hamed was beaten mentally which made it so much easier for Marco Antonio to beat him physically. Hamed was so used to toying with his opponents he did not know what to do when a guy came in he could not bully.
Hamed had great power and hit from the craziest angles I have ever seen. He was the first guy I ever seen throw a lead uppercut.
I agree with the poster ICB when he mentioned the balance issue. It was Hameds only real chink in the armor, real unorthodox style but natural ability allowed him to use it.

Naz was such a ridiculous person he deserved to get his ears beat off he put the fight on hostage for an hour because he had a change of heart about the gloves he chose then used another hour for his entrance. That was so gratifying to be honest I wouldn't have minded if Barrera took the padding off before he smashed that prick into the turnbuckle. That act from Hamed should have had him banned that was worse then Robinson trying to leave the arena because the fight was being shown in the UK.
Not only that, but around the boxing world, guys like him tend to get a lot more props and attention than they usually deserve. He had a funny schtick, he worked a bunch of money and attention out of it, and now he's gone. Not really all that uncommon when you think about it.
Thanks to Marcos Antonio Barrera put him out of boxing , i never like Nazeem Hamed , he took a real damn fu****g Beat .........in that fight...

I agree Macho, Hamed's arrogance played against him that night.
the baby faced assasin was ferocious that night, in a controlled sort of way!![]()

Hamed was a total cock , but his power brought excitment , MAB made my day when he schooled the "Yorkshire Limbo dancer"![]()
Naz had freakish power and could KO anyone in the history of the featherweight division. MAB also caught him at the right time, he had split with Ingle and was getting knocked down in every other fight. He was also losing his discipline and desire and become more and more arrogant. MAB may have beaten him at Naz's best and I loved when he was asked what he was saying to Naz during the fight. "whose you daddy?"
