Yes he can Juan Lazcano is a tough fighter and was pretty good back in his Lightweight days, but saying that Lazcano's best performances were at Lightweight he spent majority of his career at that weight. And since moving up he hasn't really made any noise. I also think his best days are behind him, i expect Hatton to win but not as easily as some people expect.
He could hang with viv harris when they fought a little while back and if he had of pushed that little bit more coulda got the decision but hatton is better then harris and in his prime like niether harris or lazcano..
And he will be true to his word and stand with hatton, its a style that works well for him and hes a tough fighter but i dont see him winning more then 3 odd rounds..
I just think its happened for him already and he'll be stopped late..
It'll be entertaining though i think.. Hes got a good style to match up with and its a name for hattons rec to pad his record before some bigger fights..
Immortal Technique
Hatton at 140lbs is an incredibly strong fighter.
Alkthough not a concussive puncher, he is possessed of enough venom to force the opposition backward and damage the. We have witnessed this in such attritional fights as Tszyu, Urango and Maussa.
In Lazcano Hatton is faced with a fighter used to forcing opposition backward himself. He will walk toward Hatton and Ricky as I said has the power to resist.
I wouldn't be surprised If we see Ricky box Lazcano for a couple of rounds, moving in and out. But eventually he will make the move and attempt to Stop Lazcano.

I think the guy throwing knifes at Ricky Hatton during his entrance will cause more panic.
Yeh apparently thats whats happening for his entrance.
Anyway i think Lazcano will cause plenty of panic. He was a very good lightweight. 5lbs aint so much. He should be very strong at 140. He's coming to win. It will be competitive.
I think Hatton may stop him late on but who knows. Maybe points 117-111 ish for Hatton would be my prediction,
I can't see it.
Hometown, in front of 55,000 of his fans, on the pitch of his footy team...
Nah, I'm not gonna say it's impossible but that's a lot of motivation for Ricky isn't it?
Lazcano is past his prime. Fighting above his best weight. Coming off a loss. And has been inactive for over a year. I'll be surprise if he makes it to 5
