You beat me to it Bro, I was about to say that.
If PAC can improve his balance when he tries to recover from his lunging straightleft he is pretty much a Tank.
At this stage in PAC's career there is not much to change from him anymore other than maintain his top conditioning and improve his balance.
All in all though he is much improved:
    1. His defense improved he was blocking alot of JMM's punches with his gloves.
    2. Though still lacking his balance has improved as compared to before.
    3. Right hand is big time improvement.

    PAVLIK:
    Permeable Defense and sometimes plodding.

    COTTO:
Not perfect defense but who has, other than PBF

I disagree a little about Pacquaio, I think that Pacquaio's defense looked horrible in many parts of his fight against Marquez, he was getting hit by punches he shouldn't have many times in that fight. One other thing I noticed was that Pacquaio needs a lot of space to throw that left hand, and Marquez would move back, then come forward just a little too close for Pacquaio to throw that left hand like he wants to which in the early middle rounds I felt stopped Pacquaio from throwing very many punches.

Kessler, hand picks his fight, and when he was on the big stage he hurt his hand
Hopkins, the tanks empty man,he came out burning rubber against Calzeghe, and lost steam in the second half of that fight
    Both Klitschko's,plodding and suspect hearts
Mahfood,Valerie should really learn to fight away occaisionally,I mean her fights are alot of fun to watch, but she takes way more punishment then she should

    ricky hatton:

foolhardy fighter that insists on fighting every opponent in the same manner.

Have seen ricky right from the very VERY start and remember the good old days when hatton was actually a very good mover of his feet and liked to slip and move the jab every so often.

nowadays its all about sheer agressiveness and relying on solely outworking his opponent.

    Ahh nice topic.

Larry Holmes = Often didn't get his jab hand up quick enough and was caught with right hands by Snipes, Shavers, because of that.

Floyd Mayweather Jr = Often lays on the ropes too much and allows his opponent's to tee off, even though most of the punches miss but still you get my point.

You know its funny that guys like Roy Jones Jr, Muhammad Ali, actually done most things wrong in the ring, yet they could get away with it because of there amazing speed and ring smarts of course.

wasnt it the zab fight where about round 7-8 he had floyd on the ropes for a good minute, threw about 30-40 shots...and not one of them actually landed??

Remember thinking that night we truly were witnessing an all time great

    That's your opinion Mr. TAE.

If Pac's defense was that horrible, then he would've been KTFO or KDed by JMM.

Pavlik - has a bad tendency to leave his right hanging out there after throwing the money punch. It's almost like he stops to survey the damage - and forgets to keep his defense tight.

Yes that does sound like the Ndou fight Zab was very inactive the second half of his bout with Mayweather. Great topic.

Winky Wright: Can get hit with straight punches, legs are a bit of a question these days and he isn't at his strongest late in fights.

Jeff Lacy: Bad defense, a bit slow and plodding and these days throws one shot at a time

Andre Ward: Reaches with punches a bit, tries to be cute a bit to much opening his opponent up with feints instead of just punching, chops a bit with his punches, gets cocky and goes into RJJ mode although I think that phase is behind him he hasn't done it in his last 6 or 7 fights

Joan Guzman - Loops his punches a bit to much. Frail hands and his weight is out of control, he's putting on 20 pounds the day after cutting weight and he's not even that big physically

Miguel Cotto: Can get hit with uppercuts, tries to fight his way out of being hurt, probably doesn't always fight as smart as he can, sometimes walks his opponent down a bit to much

... he has a good chin obviously... he was getting picked apart for a lot of rounds. I was jush surpised because Barrera fought MArquez pretty evenly, and in Pac-MAB 2 Barrera wasn't landing anything, and Pacquaio was completely dominating that fight though he never stepped on the gas.
