yes but San Antonio is on a different level of evilness, like the difference between a serial killer and someone who gives their life to helping the poor.
I don't think the Celtics could sweep anybody honestly. They turn into five Derrick Gainers if they're outside of Boston.
I don't care who wins as long as its not San Antonio. Maybe we could just give San Antonio as a whole to Mexico?
Derrick Gainers
How about the Bulls getting the number 1 pick? That was a bit of a surprise to say the least. Interesting to see what direction they go. They don't really have a gaping need at power forward or point guard but I have a feeling they will go for Rose.
I think more interesting is the Heat at number 2, if they get Derrick Rose then they instantly become one of the top teams in the East imo.
I would go with Rose. They don't really need him and they do need a guy that can score on the inside (unless you think Gooden can really carry you down there and I don't, and I'm not sure about Tyrus Thomas as a pro) so logically you might think Beasley but I just think Rose will be a better player long term.
Me to unfortunately. At least the Lakers have an exciting brand of basketball.
I used to be a Laker fan a loooooonnngg time ago back in the third grade. I used to pretend to be Eddie Jones on my hoop outside but all that changed when I moved to California and realized where the Warriors were located and that I hated all the Laker and Kings fans. This series is a bit of a reprisal of those days I'm afraid.
The good thing is that I think the Lakers are going to smash the Spurs. God I can not stand them I can not take another Spurs finals I swear to God I will lose faith in all things good in the world. I don't care if the Cowboys win the Super Bowl or if the Dodgers win the west, I hate the Spurs more. It's rather unhealthy actually I find myself going to bed angry everytime the Spurs win anything.
Well I was wrong about the Pistons. They are just so good all 5 guys on the court at all times are just so good. Great team they are and when they choose to play defense I don't know who could beat them in a 7 game series. Unfortunately for them they haven't played defense consistently since they won their title.
And Rajon Rondo is easily the worst point guard on any good team in the league. He's really developing into a pet peeve of mine and I usually root for players from Kentucky.
Just don't know if the Celtics can pull this off and maybe it's going a little far but I think in a round about way the Celtics were a bit exposed last night. They have a big 3 but so do the Pistons and more. There is no real huge mismatch for the Celtics. I mean Garnett and Pierce are going to get theres but they are having to work very hard against Wallace and Pierce and Allen got most of his points last night against the bench or inside.
But the Celtics do have that mismatch, Rondo is a virtual nonthreat on offense and they are guarding him with Rip. On the other end of the floor Billups and Stuckey are tearing up whoever is in the game at point guard whether it be Rondo or House. And McDyess is coming out in a big way this series he is really taking it to Kendrick Perkins. It just seems like the Pistons have the bigger mismatches and are the all around better team.
However, Rasheed has 5 techs and is undoubtedly going to get 7 imo. He has to work to hard against KG to not get frustrated and tacked with just 2 more T's. That's big because the Pistons are kind of like the Zab Judah mental midgets of the NBA. They play up or down to the skills of their opposition but always seem to mentally screw themselves over. Whether it's Flip Saunders not doubling Lebron or using his bench, Sheed getting suspended a game or making uncharacteristic turnovers, they always seem to screw themselves over. If they do the Celtics have enough big players to capitalize.
Pistons in 7.
The Spurs in the NBA are almost like USC in college football 3 years ago. They're so good, they can just turn it on whenever they feel like it. New Orleans beat them in the first 2 games last round WAY worse than what the Lakers did, and we saw them just flip the switch and fold the Hornets like they were nothing. If LA doesn't win at least 1 of the next 2 in San Antonio I guarantee they're gonna lose.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying LA has no chance(Kobe's the best player on the planet), but N.O. is alot like the Lakers in that they're young, and have alot of talent on the parimeter. Spurs just have a switch they can turn on, after all, they're not only the most experienced and professional team in the NBA, they may also have the best coach.
