A young johnston wasn't really a big puncher so this older slower version sure as shit wasn't going to catch cherry (who has yet to be stopped) with something hard enough to ko cherry and that was the only way he was going to win after the first couple of rounds. The fight could've been stopped way before it did. I'm not sure if the ref is aware but in real life van damn isn't going to pop up go to his trailer wipe off his make-up and have a cold one on his way home. Johnston could have really been hurt.

Cherry was reserved in the fight, you could see he wasn't going for the kill. He didn't pounce after the first knockdown and in the 10th he was trying to let Stevie get through it on his feet, but Johnston, being the proud warrior wouldn't stop pressing. It was a fight I wish wasn't made but, Cherry did what he had to do. Norwood and Johnston.....put a fork em, they are done.

    That really pissed me off.

I always liked Stevie, there was no reason for him to be in there. I was actually pretty proud of him for how well he did at certain times.

Still, I don't know, ESPN's becoming the home for old shot to pieces fighters. I don't really count Byrd-even though he's obviously shot to pieces- people wanted to see that. But seems like Echols is on every other week and now Norwood and Johnston.

I didn't even watch the Norwood fight actually, saw the replay of the KO, odd looking punch.

Not to mention Williams but at least he's not fighting guys that he shouldn't be fighting.
