I'm not surprised, at the gym I used to go to there were some women who would have beat the living shit outta me, if I had had the balls to get in the ring with them to spar (thankfully I'm not that stupid).

Were they alot bigger than you? If not you'd probably be surprised at how well you could hang. Who knows though.

They were mostly smaller, though I'm only 5'9 (at most). They'd been doing it a lot longer than I had. Plus, again I'm going to sound sexist, I don't know if I could hit a girl with bad intentions unless my life was threatened.

It's really not sounding sexist to say that, I don't know(nor would I want to) any guy who wouldn't have a problem hitting a girl with full force, even in sparring. A woman simply doesn't posses near the physicality of your average man. I have sparred with women before, couple amatuers only slightly bigger than me(I'm 5'10 but only weigh 145ish, walking around). And though they were much more schooled than I am/was, especially this one girl, the entire time, I absolutely KNEW that I could have leveled her if I somehow had wanted to. I'm not trying to sound tough or anything, I'm by no means a good boxer as they go, she was more skilled than I am for sure, and as long as it continued as light sparring, I looked terrible next to her in there. You just sort of know that if you absolutely had to, you could do real harm. It's the defenition of a physical mismatch really.
