I haven't seen this much man-holding since I was unfortunate enough to see a video of Bilbo's slumber party

Sounds like a typically shit Hatton fight. No doubt people will say it's because he's past his prime when the truth is he's always only been a B level fighter.

He beat a shot Kosta Tyszyu who quit, a result which meant about as much as Leon Spinks beating Ali. Like Carlos Baldimor his moment of glory came through good timing nothing more.

He has struggled against every remotely opponent he's ever faced, Thaxton, Magee, Tackie, Urango, Maussa, Collazo.

    He's so overratted.

Yeah Malignaggi is going to get slaughtered let's be honest he looked like shit tonight for the second outing in a row and was very lucky to escape with a win over a guy he should have outboxed easily.

I thought Ricky looked OK, good certainly not bad. He was hurt a couple times and that's definitely worrying when you look at a Bradley match up. But he was good, had a good activity level and was very accurate with his punches. He abandoned the body as the fight went on, I thought that was a bit of a mistake but he had the fight in the bag at that point.

Was a good performance, probably the best he's looked aside from against Castillo. He had that same demeanor but Lazcano is tough and held his way to decision. Still has power and at 140 I really don't think anybody at least in the current crop is going to beat Hatton until Lamont Peterson steps up. Bradley would be a good fight but I really think Peterson is the future of the division.

This is a good post. I wouldn't say he had a good performance by any means but you're right about Malagnaggi looking worse than Hatton and about Lazcano holding a lot as well.

I'll have to spread some rep.

Ricky is a nice guy but to think people thought he was going to beat Cotto

It's almost as funny as the James Toney fans who thought he was going to rule the heavyweight division.

I'm sure we'll look back on David Haye this way as well

Sounds like the bitter words of an eleventy-one year old midget who knows that he'll never become a world champion boxer.....mainly from the fact he's waaaaaay old and around three feet tall.

Whatever you think of Hatton, to say Tzsyu was shot is a load of sh1te. Why was he shot? He had not had many fights, certainly hadn't been in wars or taken beatings (hard fight aganst Philips admitedly), he was fresh after only 1 fight in 23 months, and had just looked at a career best beating Mitchell who was on the up and favourite for the fight.

Ricky Hatton afterwards said: "This was my first fight since my defeat by Mayweather. I promise to continue and to do you proud, thank you very much Manchester."

He's not exactly Mr Talkative in that brief speech to the City of Manchester Stadium.

And this is post number 6,000....if anyone needs to spread rep or anything.
