I wouldn't be surprised if Malinaggi destroyed Hatton with his counter punching....I hate Paulie but he's got a hell of a chin...even when you break his jaw

I don't see how anybody, after watching Paulie tonight could be that confident he'd beat Hatton.
Then again Hatton looked kind of crappy too but Paulie looked out and out horrible.
Lyle, define destroy? You can't possibly think he'd stop Hatton. All he does is Jab and occasionally throw a weak shoe shine flurry.
the versus commentators appear to never get a long and kept wanting to over talk eachother.
Ricky IMO is on the downslide, floyd may have weaken his chin or he just can't keep in close the way he use to, to avoid his oppenents from getting long shot punches off. I always thought ricky can be successful against anybody if he can' sustain 12 rounds of keeping close to his oppenet to avoid them getting long shots off. Great example is the left hook he is so vulnerable to. Long wide or free open air thrown punches are what does him bad. He does great inclose though and with short punches.
Ricky needs to jab more coming in instead of that silly wide leaping lead left hook.
He is past his best clearly but I'd pick him over Malignaggi still.
Yeah you're definately right about that looping left hook to get in. He's got to get past that bad habit.
I have thought for a while now though that Paulie would beat Hatton; not destroy him, but out box him convincingly to a UD. They both looked like crap tonight, so it's a pick'em IMO.
The last two guys Paulie's faced have been really average fighters and he's just looked very poor. Hatton's on the slide clearly but I just don't see what other people see in Paulie, he's really not that hard to hit for a guy as quick as he is. He's tougher than he looks but I don't see some great fighter there.
How could he not be tougher than he looks![]()
Hes not,Paulie looked terrible.Honestly,I think both are off in overall showings.Taking into consideration that Hatton was coming off of KO loss....Some guys can never come back from that. Both favorites were stunned tonight.Paulie has looked on the other side recentley...but with his "style" could give Hatton problems but we have to see if tonight was The latest version of Hatton or a rugged rebuilding fight scapping off the rust....His defense was invisible ,and a tad sluggish but I'd still like to see him beat the weeve & braids off of Paulie.
I think Paulie's lack of power would hurt him badly. You can see Hatton would be in some real trouble against a sharp shooter type counter puncher with some power cause he just walks in with his head up high, or he leads with that jumping left hook and he's open for a lot of punches, especially the left hook. Its not like Lazcano's some counter punching expert with huge power and look what he at times was able to do. Paulie just really jabs and the occasional flashy combo. Not sure that would be enough.
Hatton haters would love the idea of an ODLH-Hatton fight.Look at the work Lazcano was able to do at times with his left hook and then replace Lazcano with ODLH, Hatton would get hurt.
