He got alot of time to recover, probably 20 seconds or so. Hatton needs to buy that guy a steak.

similarities to how Naz's Career played out are freaky...
wins some great fights massive fan base...
Leaves Frank Warren and heads off to the states has a few scares on the waybefore losing to a top P4P in america getting his head bashed in the corner
comes back against an easy opponent in the UK but looks unimpressive over 12 round.
makes me wonder if that was his last fight....
because if you remember Naz had a deal with HBO and was also claiming he he wanted a rematch but then never fought again.
makes you think![]()
You guys are giving Hattona pretty hard time (saddo). I don't think its his last fight. Juan was very game and took alot of punches. Not only did he take alot of punches, he retained his strength. Also even though Hatton didn't impress, I didn't think the fight was that close at all.

Also I am sure you have talked about this in previous pages on this thread, but Oscar just makes me sick. everything he says is just bullshit. "I will win." Yank yank.
Like the Boss says in Reservoir Dogs not to listen to the gut shot Tim Roth, "it will just be more bullshit."
Then the announcers talk about how he never avoided anyone. Yet they forget to mention WINKY. He also avoided getting up in the B-Hop fight to take his whipping like a man. And someone who never avoided anyone would find as worth an opponent as Steve Forbes.![]()

Just got back from the fight.
How hurt was he?
To me in the 8th (i think) he looked on his way down but then seemed to recover really quickly. Got tagged a few more times in the 10th i think but didn't look to be in a bad way. Hard to tell when you're there.
Anyway from what i could see, he looked ok for his comeback fight. Lazcano was very game. More of a nuisance than anything.
Looked like he was breaking Lazcano's will but he couldn't quite get him out of there.
Ive just finished watching the fight now. Hatton fought pretty well out there. He went twelve hard rounds and outworked Lazcano in each of them. It wasnt a perfect display but for a first fight back after a KO loss it was good enough.
Hatton boxed pretty effectively in there but was reckless at times. But then again when isnt he? He gets tagged in every fight. Some of this talk of Hatton being in trouble is over the top IMO. This is boxing, not ballet. Hatton gets tagged and comes on back. Not a bother.
Going by this form Hatton will walk through Malignaggi and probably try to bust him up worse than Cotto did to prove a point. Hatton fought 12 at a decent pace for the first time in a while which was good. His body work was sharp and he was throwing more effective combinations. Ricky does need to sharpen up a little more though. He is still smothering himself too much when he could step back and come back in with more effective combos. And he needs to watch some of those wild hooks that are a mile off...cant get too careless.
I think part of the wildness was because Ricky was eager to impress. To an extent he did, but he needs to continue to refine his skills as he moves on from this.
I missed this fight. So hatton won, eh? Bahh fook.

Also, one of the reasons I think he was hurt bad was that he seemed to not even have the strength to hold on to Lazcano. I have seen Ricky take some good shots that stunned him, but he would clinch. He seemed to have no strength to hold on for a few seconds and was really just falling on Lazcano. That kind of told me he was hurting.![]()
He was hurt real bad. But to say that Hatton would have been knocked out for good in that round, (which is what the scores would have required) is speculative at best.

Where is VD at by the way? I bet he about shat himself.

Yeah, kind of hard to say, and meaningless to say he would/wouldn't have been knocked out, as we'll never know.
Hatton is one of my top 5 favorite fighters, so it's hard for me to be hard on him, but he looked like crap. ! minute into round one I said he looked off.
But I hope he gets his head right, as he will have a rough ending to his career if he fights some other guys the way he fought tonight.
Honestly how far off was he compared to the Uraunga fight/?? I thought he looked very similar to that. Clearly winning, but not sharp.
