Rodrigo Valdez- bad timing of being alongside Carlos Monzon

    Michael Nunn- his own fault.

Cant argue with either of thse, Nunn couldve been an absolute superstar but wasted it.

I think Buddy McGirt could have been great if he didnt have so much trouble with his shoulder, was a very good fighter who just missed out on the top echelon.

Brian Mitchell the south african fighter from the late 80's should be regarded as a great fighter but didnt really have enough big opposition match ups.

Tim Witherspoon could have been great but he wasted his prime years and got too out of shame. The same could be said of Michael Dokes.

    Emmanual Augustus.

Rafa Marquez, if not for Izzy, he may have had a shot at p4p #1 contention.

I think Sonny Liston is a great.

With better timing and management he could've been greater, but as it is, his achievements are pretty solid, short reign or not. He beat a lot of contenders from 1958-1962.

Yeah - I think Liston was a great fighter too.

How about these who just miss out:

    Floyd Patterson
    Jersey Joe Walcott
    Pinklon Thomas
    Cleveland Williams

I rate Liston as very good fighter but i feel he did slightly fall short of greatness but thats debatable depends which way you look at it. Skill wise he is great he had excellent jab and a great pressuring style, but record wise i feel he did fall just short of greatness.
