Boxing in the uk is also extremely limited, its all about money if you ask me. Said TV channel can broadcast a UFC event for virtually nothing yet one PPV boxing replay will cost more money than its actually worth for the station.

Boxing is the one true worldwide sport - its played in all continents (dont quote me on antartica) by all religions, sizes etc.

In a way im actually kinda glad. If the UK ever got a round the clock boxing channel that showed up to date weekly worldwide boxing shows i think id give up my job, give up my social life and just spend my life infront of the box 24/7

In America it plays out like this

HBO/Showtime each show 1-2 fights a month and will sometimes replay the featured fighters previous fights IF they were on that channel before.
*Both channels require extra fees to get them

ESPN2 has Wednesday and Friday Night Fights usually missing one week a month for each for some other sporting event while the season is on that's about 6 fights a week.
*Basic cable, must have cable to get it

Versus. has the odd fight every once in a while once a month or so.
*not provided by all services partially covered by cable

Telefutura usually has fights on Friday's but not always it's on basic cable where I live and is an all spanish telecast.

Telemundo has a random fight on every now and then, it is also an all spanish telecast.

You get wednesday night fights in the US??

oh you guys are so lucky!!

No sport in the UK gets a 10th of the coverage football gets.

Friday fight night is the only guaranteed live boxing we get each week, If theirs a big fight stateside on a saturday we`ll get that as well but thats usually reserved only for the likes of cotto, mayweather, klitschko, pacquiao, ODLH

apart from that its espnclassics, nutstv, fightchannel etc for classic fights which usually consist of either nigel benn or chris eubank.

god bless the likes of ICB and el gamo for the work they do upping the fights for us!!

Here, here! It can be a right pain living in the uk. At least Setanta are making an effort and although not worldwide fights, some of the Uk fights on Sky on Friday nights are well matched and exciting.

    Long live megaupload!! lol

A boxing channel would provide excellent exposure for young fighters aswell as the amateurs.

Problems would of course arise with ppv and HBO, but I'm sure something could be worked out, if the promoters were persuaded.
