My target caloric intake for the day is about 1700 calories.

    Oatmeal 150 calories.
    Egg 54 calories
    Blueberries 39 calories
    V8 50 calories

    Total for breakfast

    293 calories

I will eat 5 more times today of meals that are portioned at about the same caloric level with increased protein and reduced carbs with each meal. So is that enough to start the day and am I missing anything nutrition wise?

My goal is a little more weight loss.
Hmmm, sounds tasty, (and perfectly healthy to start the day).

Instant oatmeal isn't "crap". I dont know who perpetrated this rumor and made it into common "belief" It is essentially the exact same as whole oats, just cut smaller and cooked and dried to make it easier to prep again.

The oats lose no nutritional content in this and fiber is fiber.

A few mornings a week I eat organic instant oatmeal because I only have about 15 minutes to prepare and eat breakfast in the mornings. Mix in some blueberries, have a banana, and some whey and it's a good way to start my day.

Its not like instant oatmeal is chemically altered or packed full of pesticides

Hell, Id rather eat organic instant oatmeal than non organic oatmeal.
