has 3-4 big paydays to come
wants to stamp his legacy on the sport (which he will not do if he was to retire now)

theres plenty of reasons why ricky retiring now would be stupid!!!

I don't want Ricky to retire now. I get entertainment from watching him fight - win or lose i'm not bothered.

But someone that has seen 40 years of faded fighters going on too long with some suffering dire consequences, it's understandable why they would.

where are all you lot getting this from, hatton fought just as well on saturday as he did against maussa, urango and castillo.

Hatton fought the fight of his life 3 years back against tszyu, since then though he has been in wars with fighters just as supposedly "average" as your juan lazcanos and made a far worst job of it.
