Bilbo you are dead wrong on a bunch of different levels.

If you really think Gamboa or Khan come close to beating Hatton even in a year's time then you are just crazy, certified nuts because there is no chance. Pacquiao winning would be a tough sell much less Khan or Gamboa.

I don't get why Tszyu was shot. He wasn't prime but he wasn't shot and was coming off one of his most impressive performances as a pro. I personally think Hatton's smothering pressure would have bothered Tszyu at any point in his career. It's just a style that gave Tszyu problems, he needed space to punch and he needed to be moving forward. Doesn't matter what year it was he was always going to have problems with Hatton.

And highlighting every trouble period he's ever had as a pro is just fickle. You could do that with any fighter on the planet, as long as they won the fight the point is moot.

And most importantly, if you think Hatton hasn't at all declined then again, just don't know what to say. Watch any fight, the Tszyu, Maussa fight specifically and then watch him against Collazo. Not the same fire. Not nearly the same bounce in his step, looked sluggish in both his fights in America. Looked better against Floyd but was in the ring with a much better fighter.

Talks of Hatton's demise have been greatly exaggerated. It's going to be a while before he has to come up with an exit strategy. Once guys like Lamont Peterson, Devon Alexander, Victor Ortiz develop more then he'll have a worthy challenger to his 140 lb supremacy. Right now he looks to be a cut above everybody at the weight.

I have no problem with hating a fighter but come on do you really buy what you are saying? That Khan or Gamboa would wreck Hatton? Honestly now...

I did that purely to make a point. Experts and guys on here were saying he should call it quits because he had some tough moments on Saturday. I pointed out that 3 or 4 years ago he still had tough moments against lesser opposition. The point is, getting caught a few times on Saturday does not warrant him retiring.

I still fail to see how anybody can see has declined when you consider the fights he struggled in 3/4 or 5 years ago.

I think people are basically using the Tszyu fight as a yard stick to how good he was. He was super-human that night. Just because he hasn't produced a performance on that level since, doesn't mean he should retire.

I just saw the fight at home properly. On Saturday I was in a bar and I downloaded it but right now was the first real good look at it. He's definitely not the fighter that beat Tszyu but he's still got enough for a few more entertaining fights left in him. He was hurt in the eighth but not in the tenth. Good luck to him for the future, but he's on the down slope now.
