Hard to come back when you talk as much as he did like that. I mean it would have been ok if he lost a decision and still had his pride keep him standing up while taking a beating. But getting stopped and showing discouragement showed he didn't have as much confidence in himself as he thought and was easily discouraged and thats hard to come back from.

Good point but I think of he really wants to come back,he can. I mean, I think Vargas was being an ass against Oscar then he got demolished too,but he managd to come back although has he been the same?

But Vargas never showed the discouragement or disbelief in what he said he still looked and showed like he had a chance. Mayorga wears his emotions on his sleeve, which isn't always good. Like Atlas says, the ring is where you learn the truth real quick.

Neither do I, but Spinks and corrupt judges had other plans. As did Don King, he needed a new fall guy for Tito and others. But Mayorga's at 154, and damnit, he could beat Quartey, Rivera, Santos, Garcia, and yes even Ouma. Oh and Vargas as well.
