Default Mundine to do big things in the MW division.

Here is a prediction from me for the rest of 2008 and 2009. I am a confused Mundine fan, I hate his out of ring shit but admire his skill and think he has the tools to be a better fighter than many ppl think.

Mundine fought at 168 without ever dieting, which means he has always been more a 160 fighter anyway. He is much improved and could beat anyone at 160 on his night.

I think if he gets some of the big fights in the division he will be seen as a top 2 MW by end of 2009. Laugh if u like but im pretty confident in this prediction.

Thoughts, and please make them intelligent

If Sven Ottka can KO Mundine , it would be a video nasty if he fought Pavlik.

I think he'd be competitive against the top 160lbers, I don't think he'd beat Pavlik and maybe not Abraham, but I could see him doing quite well.

See that is a dumb post. Did Kessler KO Mundine? Just cos Mundine got KO'd in his 10th fight some 25 fights ago dont mean he is gonna get KO'd whenever he fights somenoe who can punch. Danny Green was maybe the most powerful puncher at 168 when Mundine fought him and he never got hit.

Saying that the Ottke v Mundine fight is still relevant is like saying that the Pacquiao v Singsurat fight is still relevant. Has Manny got a glass jaw cos he got sparked early in his career?

The ottke fight is often brought up by ppl who have seen little or none of Mundine fighting since...

Mundine destroyed Soliman who pushed Wright to the limit. He totally outboxed Danny Green a top 168 and 175 fighter, and was the first person before Calzaghe to seriously push Kessler. Thats right none of that counts cos he got Ko'd in his 10th fight which happened to be a title fight. He was fighting for a title when most contenders are still beating up the Charlie Zelenofs of the boxing world.

I think he'd surprise ppl against Pavlik. May lose on points cos of Kelly's superior workrate. I'd actually pick him to beat Abraham.

He would definatly suprise me if he lasted 6 rounds with Pavlik.
And to be fair i think he is the biggest prick in boxing , closely followed by Paulie Mallanaggi.

That to is a dumb post as Mundine has fought 2 non cab driver's since that fight, losing to Kessler and beat Green, but Green was over his hill by then and was never as skilled as mundine. Mundine needs to prove himself before he gets any high fives from the public. Unless of course you want to see Mundine - Soliman IV, it's getting more rediculous than the rocky series.

He wont be heading for big things if he takes fights like this one he is planning...

Anthony Mundine vs. Shannan Taylor in The Works - Boxing News

He may aswell stand in front of a truck as this will do as much for his talent as the fight against shannon taylor :S

Mundine has decent skills, but he is a joker, the fights he chasing prove it. He's just looking to make as much money as possible for little risk by fighting other Aussies, soliman and Taylor were never world class, and he actually ducks a payday with a credible opponent in Kessler (going to purse bid he'd have got the lions share of the purse as well being champ.).

He's not a real champ, champ's defend their belt against people who stand a chance, they also fight for glory. He does neither, he won by default, fight's people not up to his level and dodges other champions. Biggest faker in Aus sport past, present and future.

Saddo needs to fix the forum system so that the word "Mundine" is treated like a swear word and *******'d out...
Seriously, Mayweather gets heat from not fighting Cotto, but at least he's actually fought some of the best.. Hell, he's fought all the best for the last 10 years.... Mundine is the equivelant of Mayweather fighting ODLH for his next 15 "megafights" just because he knows it'll make at least some money no matter how many times the get in the ring..

I do not even think it is realistic to discuss whether Mundine is good or not, or discuss whether he could beat this or that person.. Because seriously he has not put himself in a challenging fight in the last 5 years...
He gave up his belt because he did not want to fight a genuine challenger, and to take up arms against Sam Soliman for the 3rd time... There was only ever a point to them fighting once... Maybe if Mundine had gone overseas for a bunch of fights and tried to make something similar to a 'boxing career' (someone please explain that concept to him and his people), then he could have come back here and listened to "what the fans wanted" and done a "by demand" rematch with Sam Soliman... Even then, that would be 2 fights... And a third would STILL be as irellevant as it was when they last fought...

Every single time I find out his next opponent, I feel a glimmer of hope.. A glimmer of hope that Anthony Mundine has a very weird sense of humour.. He's deliberatly making joke fights... He's just taking the piss out of all of us this one last time, just because he can.. Just because he can still make a little bit of money from it... THENNNN, THEENNNNN he'll be normal and move up to a better class of opponent.... BUT nope... I was done with that theory, of him taking the piss,6 fights ago!!! Now I just think he's a total ******* moron, and this latest Shannan Taylor is the turd on top of the turd icecream of a career...

Mundine does not deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as Pavlik.. He does not deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence and Middleweight.. And he does not even deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as Boxing.....

An idea would be for him to tape his mouth shut and demand no camera be pointed at him ever again. Then he can fight who he wants and no one, namely me, will not need to give a shit....... BUT, every time I turn the television on, and our know nothing sports telecasts have his stupid face chanting his favourite 4 words "I am the Greatest".. It makes me sick... All he needs to do is add just 4 more words on to that, and it'll be perfect "Wanker of all time!"

If this Taylor fight goes ahead, I am personally going around to his house and punching him while he is asleep in bed... EVERYONE in Australia needs to wake up and see what a gigantic phoney he is, and throw stones at him when they see him.... He is tiring and he makes me sick..

Now you must excuse me, i'm going to go throw up now.....

Mundine is a c class fighter, he fights cab drivers and thinks he deserves a shot at the best middleweight who would beat him so bad if they did fight. he got ko'd by a pillow puncher and lost when he stepped up to fight kessler. he is rubbish and would be lucky to win a middleweight title.

Mundine moving to 160 is a good idea, because two of the big threats there are most likely leaving soon (Pavlik and Taylor) leaving Arthur Abraham, Edison Miranda, Felix Sturm and Sebastian Sylvester as threats

Then you have the old guys who probably won't fight much if at all in this division anymore Winky, Castillejo.

Young waiting to be exploited fighters, Mora and Duddy.

If ever he was going to move to 160 now is the time.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

On Mudine's best night he does not beat Kelly Pavlik at 160. He is not better then Kessler at 168.
