One thing you have to remember though about IV. Because of the idea that Drago was super human, Stallone wanted to make the fight scenes more realistic and he actually wanted to be hit hard to make it more realistic. All the guys could probably hit relatively well, but if Stallone was telling Lundgren specifically to hit him harder, there you go.
It really should have been written more like Rocky III, where he's dodging most of the punches.

If there were a boxer that could really hit as Drago was supposed to (2150 psi. punch), there's no way in hell fire anybody could have taken that many shot like Rocky did. Just look at how long it (didn't) take for Drago to kill Apollo, although Apollo took the fight too lightly.
Maybe Rocky had a thicker skull than Apollo. At any rate, Rocky did have some longterm damage. I remember in the beginning of V how he was shaking like a baby in the hands of a British Au pair.

In Rocky 5, he had that special kind of brain damage which makes you hear loud noises and see flash backs of getting knocked out. Luckily it went away before Rocky 6.

As I understand it, Rocky V didn't happen I remember him saying something on the special features where he said something like that.

    What do you mean?

It is weird how is brain damage seemed to have gone in Rocky VI even though the doctors had said it was irreversable (although time could have had an effect on this). But I did notice no clips whatsoever were used from Rocky V like there were from the others. No mention of Tommy Gunn, etc.

And it was also a flaw when you could see the age difference in his son between Rocky IV and Rocky V.

That's kind of strange though to say that V never happened.

True, but I'm still surprised he was even able to walk or talk at all. That's why it's just a movie.

It's simple, Rocky V sucked. It would be much easier to act like it never happened then it would to work around that ridiculous movie. Rocky Balboa was great, just as great as I and II. I had a thought but kind of lost it as I typed that. But yeah, it was the only sequel with no mention or clips of the movie before it. That's intentional.

Yeah, I remember him on Arsenio saying he got a full scholarship to MIT. Jeesh, why not go for the trifecta and tell me he's got a huge schlonger and he's cramming my wife?
Ha Ha, he seems like a cool guy.

    He's no boxer though
No, but he was European full-contact Kyokushinkai Karate Champion, holding a 3rd Dan, so he knew a bit about fighting.

He did try and eradicate (nice word that don't you think ) Rocky V from memeory as he believed it was crap.

A bit like they did with Highlander II when they released III (which wasn't all that bad) but II has to be one of the worst sequels to get a cinema release of all time

I don't want to offend anyone here, although I probably will.

He could say that V was a figment of his imagination while in the coma post rocky IV... His brain damage caused the illusions

But wait! How does he explain the fact that he still lost all his money? While he was doing better than he was later in V, he still wasn't rich like he was in IV.

No, in some obscure interview or other....

As for the money, would't he have spent it all on hospital bills etc.?
