I doubt the internet has much affect on the general election, bar raising money.

The internet has HURT Obama just as much as it's helped him....Rev. Wright, the "clinging to guns and religion" speech, Father Pfleger, the "57 states" remark....Obama isn't the darling of the internet you believe buddy

Go to mybarackobama.com. He's raised quarter of a billion from over 5% of the American population in gifts of $200 or less. There's been nothing like that in history. Nothing even close. McCain so far raised less than $20 million through small donations.
