Theres a very good line of thought that music distracts the senses, which Im begining to agree with as regards movement.

alright they mate!Interesting point!!!I'd like to get some true evidence on that matter. It is really interesting to think about it.I mean if it was sciencetifically proven then i would be willing to train without music or at least less of it.Ido like having a bit of music when im jogging and i feel it helps tonnes but the matter you have just mentioned, what method of training are you on about in regards of your senses being distracted? Is it bag training or speedball training?
My gym usually plays Japanese trance but its so quiet that I dont even notice it when training.
Any music that isnt jazz, or Nu Metal (which MMA fans/practitioners seem to love) is fine with me.
Ive been told numouros times, that it can alter movement by up to 13% and affect the other senses natural timing. Ive read and discussed it years ago, think we did a thread on it some time back. only dancing it will help Plus its nice to listen to, but theres other senses it dulls and your own sense of feel, with it not being your own timing.

These are some of the ones I listen to when I am running:-
Metallica - Turn the Page
Robert Tepper - No Easy Way Out (Rocky IV)
Bill Conti - Going the Distance (Rocky)
Radiohead - Reckoner
Bruce Springsteen - Lost in the Flood (Hammersmith 1975)
Pantera - Walk
Doctor Who Theme
Stevie Wonder - Superstition
MGMT - Electric Feel
Tantric - Breakdown
The Who - Eminence Front
Funny, none of that is really fast stuff - suits the way I run![]()
