I was at the fight Saturday night, Williams absolutely smoked Quintana... I always thought Williams was the goods despite his loss to Quintana the 1st time and is just as good as Margarito and Cotto..

Mora showed true heart and grit... He put on a nice display

I'll have to admit here that I wrote off Williams after the loss to Quinatana.
I also had claimed that his lack of power meant that he wouldn't be able to operate well at the Elite level at Welter.

He showed a great improvement in power in that single round and I'll admit I was wrong!

Big surprise with Mora too, fair play to him!

Yeah, I really enjoyed all the fights Sat... I HATE Mora... But he looked....... ::Grits teeth:: Very Good... He came to fight(even though it was a shell of Forrest) and looked good doing it... He was less spotty and the workrate was much better. All the credit to Sergio.

Quintana got smoked BAD... I knew Williams was going to take it to him but I though it would again me a fairly close war of atrician... Fun Round to watch

Locket........... looked exactly how everyone thought he'd look.

    Oh and BTW....

Although I was unable to make it to Canastota this weekend my friend, feeling bad I couldn't go, brought me back the best gift ever!

    A glove signed by:

Angelo Dundee, Carman Basilio, Aaron Pryor, Alexis A, Marvin Starling, Leon Spinks, Nate Campbell and Chad Dawson...

    Pretty bad ass, huh?

Most people wrote of Williams and I dont know why... Its funny how people were using that fight to ponificate Cotto's greatness, so as I smartass I ask you.. Is Williams a worldbeater now that he Blew Quintana out in a 1/2 round when it took Cotto 5 rounds and that he would beat Cotto?

I know its a dumb mentality but its amazing how people think sometimes

It's really all relitive... Cotto is very patient... Thats why it took so long.

I think that the only "world beater" that's out there is Floyd...

Yeah, I hear ya about using Quintana Cotto to pontificate his greatness... That was also taken up a notch and cotto put on an even larger pedistal after williams was beaten by quintana... People were like, "if this kids this good and quintana beat him how great must Cotto really be."

I'm a huge advocate for any guy can beat any other guy if the circumstances are right...(you know what I mean... I'm not talking about a D- fighter against a A+ world champ) like with Mora... Although as I stated he was only fighting a shell of Forrest, the table was set and he came to eat. I think Mora is a B+ fighter that will defend a few times and move back up to Middle weight. He got what he deserved... A world title in the weakest div out there... But he got the green strap in an entertaining fight(to me anyway).

Writting off williams is just stupid. I called him to win the last fight but was wrong... I knew he'd win this one. The Punisher is no joke and will give ANYONE in the div problems... He is skilled and powerful... He's long and has leverage and his height allows him to throw at a downward angle.
He's coming into him own and that was a great performance. He needed that.

The problem is I see him having is the Chico syndrom... Out growing your weight but not being sturdy or powerful enough to move up..

But already beat Margo and if he can beat Cotto then with Floyd being retired it would make him the man at 147. But I think we will end up seeing Williams/Margarito II since Tony is gonna beat Cotto's ass

Hmmm... Very good point. It's sad when a fighter can nolonger make weight and can't move up... esentially a man without a home.

I am a big Margarito fan... I have always loved him and was gutted when Williams beat him cuz it was his own fault...

I know you like Margo too but I'm sorry I don't see him "beating Cotto's ass" If he does, fair play to him but I just don't see it happening. I hope it does though..

I hope Manny's coming over so I can bug him personally on a day to day level.

I honestly don't think Williams is all that special.
I could be wrong, I was wrong last Saturday, but I just don't feel he has the ability to beat Cotto or even Margortio again.

When using the logic "It took Cotto 5, when Williams did it in 1." one can also raise the point that Quintana won more than 50% of their first twelve rounds together. He didn't win anything against Cotto.

But once again its just another appliocation of the "styles make fights" cliche.

I won't write off any fighter.....Lets see what he has.
