Mouthgard- Is this normal?

Cheers. When I have the new one in and tap my teeth, I can feel it much easier than when I can with the shock doctor in.
Although its really comfortable, I am a bit nervous about sparring now. Although keeping my mouth shut when sparring should be easier now so that should alleviate some of the potential dental hazards.

I just saw the pictures. It does look very thin mate, but I can't comprehend why your dentist would allow you if it wasn't adequate.

I guess if you're in real doubt you could carry it with you to a doctors checkup

A dentist made mouthguard is better then anything generic you will buy. And yes, they are much thinner as well.

I think I put this in your training log cpcompany a bit ago, but will repost this thought here for anyone reading. IF one buys a shock doctor, make sure not to buy the more expensive one, that I believe is colored. It has hard plastic that runs all the way down towards the back of it and it will cut into your cheek and open you up if you get hit.

They have a cheaper one with a lot less of this plastic, is black in color and much better suited for boxing.

The shock doctor is going in the bin ASAP. I didnt expect the doctors mouthguard to be this thin though.
I might have a word with a few of the pros and trainers at the gym to see if this guard is normal.

Oh for sure, check it out. But I have a dentist one now, and it felt paper thin when I first put it in. Every one I've seen is a lot thinner also. But yea...after using a generic one, it does feel weird at first. Just try after a few weeks to put the shock doc back in...it will feel like you are sticking a shoe in there.

Most fighters cant afford a custom fit,you boil a brainpad,suck it up,and slam it in to your mouth,suck hard,you have your custom fit.That way you have a double mouth piece,with a breathing channel no less
