Catching up with Kermit Cintron
Good read/ i'd like to see him come back. I still think he can be dangerous at WW: 2 defeats to Tony don't make you a bum.His power would trouble most ww's.

Nice article. He sounds like a man who has been humbled by not just the sport, but by life as well.

Sounds like he understands the loses and isnt disillusioned about why he lost. It doesnt sound like this lost will deter him in the future, but we wont know till he gets back in there. I agree that his power is going to get him through 95% of the division with only the top few fighters being able to handle him. Still has a chance to make a solid career. Hopefully we will see him in the ring real soon.

I just think that Cintron is intimidated by Margarito now. The first loss was brutal and will remain in Cintron's head. The second really did damage to him.
He agreed to a rematch with Margarito too soon if you ask me.
Cintron still has a bright future he just needs some recovery time
Cintron needs to not ever watch his last fight against Margo. He needs to stop discussing it, and try to forget it. He looked flat out scared in it, because I believe he was. Every word he has said since, especially talking of how Cotto would lose, was still screaming of having the Margo beatdown in his head. And even this article, albeit humble, smells of the same stuff.
Yes...he needs to forget about it, stop talking about it, and definately not ever fight Margarito again.
There are still plenty of attractive bouts around the weight for Cintron. He needs to take 2 or 3 tune up fights to get some confidence back then get back in the mix!

I think someone mentioned it in another thread, but I wouldn't mind seeing Cintron-Collazo.
Kermit Cintron vs Andre Berto would be a good fight and a good test for Berto.
It would be very easy at this stage for Cintron to slip to "gatekeeper" status.

That's absolutely right, Margarito didn't just beat him this last time, he may have broken him. I will reserve more judgement until later, but even to put him in with Berto now would validate him as a gatekeeper, Collazo is a much better option or Isaac Hlasaya-however-you-spell-it. He could learn a great deal and both fights are winnable for him without being gimmes.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
There are certain fighters in the game that you are just wasting your time and energy trying to knock out, most of them are actually very beatable if you box them...
Antonio Margarito
Librado Andrade
to mention just a couple, you hit these guys with baseball bats and they keep coming, Kessler proved with Andrade all you have to do it box and move and frustrate these fighters and the win comes, stand and trade and there will always be only one result -
Margarito v Cintron 1 & 2
Andrade v Mack, Steigliez etc
