Latimore won by tko Powell needs to move more and get aggresive then he'll be worth something he's so predictable he doesn't switch his style or learn from his opponents mistakes

I agree I mean look at his legs they were fine, his hands were up and only 1 of those punches connected real clean. I still think Powell is one of the best fighters in the division, looked gassed to me definjiitely wasn't expecting that type of fight which is just stupid considering all the upsets this year.

Whatever I'm not a Powell fan but if I was I would be livid right now, Benji made a bad call IMO.

Shitty stoppage, but I finally picked a fight right, that makes me like 1-28 on picks this year

While the stoppage may have been bad, Powell was showing almost zero defense at that point and was firing nothing back, even if he was faking it when that jab Latimore threw pushed Powell in the corner I think that's where the ref started looking to call it. Good news is the 154 lb division still sucks and is top heavy with guys ready to retire, so both Latimore and Powell will probably get title shots within a year.

You know looking back at that fight it's hard to pick out much that Latimore did wrong, I don't like his straight up stance, but he used it well I was pretty impressed in just about any other division I wouldn't give him a shot at the top 10 but at 154, he may be someone to watch.

I also think Powell will have a hard time against anyone that doesn't run into his left hand. Powell's right side is almost useless.

Hehe good pick, Latimore showed he isn't someone to be taken lightly. He did land alot of good left leads over Powells low right. I think Latimore was on his way to breaking down Powell, but it could have gone longer definately.

Absolutlely it could have, Powell's play at being hurt was stupid enough that it justified being waved off though IMO. This isn't wrestling if you can beat a guy, just beat him no reason to go into an acting session in the ring.

I think powell was genuinely stunned with Latimore in process of tuning him up......on ropes.Powell is kicking his own arse at home right now.Latimore has some weak spots...stands tall, wide in spots,haircut.. but He is Southpaw awkward & shows decent sharp power...rematch anyone?

Something I really liked about Latimore was that when Powell caught him, he collected himself and fired back even when he looked hurt.

IS Buddy McGirt overrated? I certainly would not let him touch any of my fighters. The reson why is he is never there for the whole camp. A fighter needs to devolp a bond with his or her trainer. one to two weeks and then the fighht does not work in my book.

He's had shitty run lately, but it may be because everyone and their uncle is trained by Buddy atm. It seems he is in a different corner every weekend in big fights. He may be spreading himself too thin. My one complaint about Buddy is when he yells out stuff from the corner...what you don't think the other guy can't hear you too?.....duh

Lattimore trains with Adams. In the same camp as Valero.

i think powell was gonna end up losing the fight on points anyway, but....

i thought that powell was faking being hurt trying to lure latimore in and get him to make a mistake

Bad stoppage but i don't feel sorry for powell at all. I like most don't belive he was hurt he definatly could have gone on and probably finish the fight but geeeezusss he talked, played, rope-doped, damn near everything besides punch back in that last round, it was something like 22-9. Powell wasn't going to win the fight reguardless, he acted like he was shocked but he knew the real deal. He would have been way more livid as well as his corner if it was really that bad of a stoppage. Powell came in against a guy that he was supposed to basically hit one or two times and his head would blow up and throw blood and guts all over the front row. He way overestimated this kid figuring he'd seen all he had in the past and this was going to just be a good showing of him for T.V. From the begining he knew he was in for more than he expected. Teddy atlas imo was way off base assuming powell was just buying time waiting to counter of his defense, at first i agreed but after a bit you could see powell was waiting for some glaring huge mistake to be made and it never came, meanwhile he was getting cracked, and loosing rounds till he was just simply too far back. How many freakin times are these guys gonna look past who they are currently fighting no matter who they are. Of all times this is the worst to make that mistake...it's hot, natural disasters are everywhere, the economy is fucked, basically to sum it all up (excuse my phrase here but) niggaz is hot, broke, and aint got no gas these days so every fighter is dangerous. Powell needed to learn this lesson and hopefully so will some others. Hell even baller 27 could accidently swing his arm with his eyes covered and catch someone on the chin. You always look like a bigger badass talking shit after a fight you won then trying to convince us you are going to win a fight that hasn't even come yet.

Awwww, thanks for thinking of me. Sorry that I missed the fights guys, I got stuck pretty late at my 2nd job, and I got home just as the Powell fight was starting, but I had to clean up, eat a little something, and then I went to bed after the fight, because I was tired as hell.

The whole time I was at work, I was pissed off, because I wanted to get home to watch the fights with my guys.

BTW, I'm glad Powell lost, that guy talks way too much, and his fight against Ishe Smith, was one of the worst sleep inducing fights that I have ever watched.
