Testing for higher belts was done behind closed doors and from what I read years ago the belt testing was brutal, with people getting bones broken and their faces opened up. Chuck Norris would have beat the sh#t out of both of them. He actually fought in tournaments with no gloves or foot pads back in the 60's. He might be kind of cheesy, but he actually was a fighter in the brutal early days of open tournaments.
